"Coastal Scandinavian" is a perfect little studio on the backside of the home that is cozy for two and just a block to the beach. Decorated in an eclectic but simple way with comfort and functionality as the main goal. The studio is directly attached to the main house and both share a common deck, but it also has a separate entrance and parking for the convenience and privacy of it's guests.

There is a kitchen, a dining area, living room, and bedroom with a private bath. Please note the kitchen does not have an oven but beyond that, it comes with all the needed utensils to cook a meal or simply open a bottle of wine. The living room has a very comfortable leather apartment style sofa, marble coffee table, flat panel TV, cable, DVD player and sound bar. The main storage area is also located in the living room with closet and drawer space. The bedroom has a Queen size bed, nightstands, and independent, dimmable reading lights. The bathroom, while not huge, has everything you need for that beach getaway and is accessible only through the bedroom. Please note that there is no bathtub, just a shower stall. A small bistro set is also provided on the back deck for an impromptu alfresco meal or an afternoon drink.

If you need that weekend getaway for just a short time, "Coastal Scandinavian" is the place for you!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ARRIVING AT "COASTAL SCANDINAVIAN":
The entrance to the rental unit is in the rear of the property on Third Ave Extension. To get to the rental unit, take Ft. Fisher Blvd S to Davis Road.
Make the first right onto Third Ave Extension. The rental unit is at the very end of Third Ave Extension on the left side. Park in the grassy lot next to the rental entrance. The rental unit is not accessible from E Avenue. Do not attempt to enter the main house from the front door on E Avenue or park in the owner's driveway on E Avenue.

Cute little home for a beach weekend

We enjoyed our visit and loved how convenient the location was to the beach, even though it wasn’t beachfront. Had a little trouble with the TV connecting to cable at times, but otherwise no issues! We would stay here again.

Enjoyed the stay, everything was in good shape. Had problems with bugs, mostly in the bathroom. The bathroom light was not bright enough, hard to see. Bathroom facet sprayed water on you and floor. Still a very nice place to stay!

My husband and I had a great stay! It was super clean. We had a short walk to the beach, but it was back far enough that we didn't have to deal with the main street traffic. We had a great time!

Lovely Place, Close to Beach, Comfortable

I don't have any complaints about the home. It was small, but it was comfortable, clean & quite close to the beach. I enjoyed my stay and would consider returning. The reason I knocked off a star is that the listing is misleading. To start, there was no balcony. There is a deck, but those are not even close to the same. Also, and even more troublesome for us, there was no grill. Keep in mind that we purchased nearly $200 in food for grilling, only to discover there was no grill. We called the property managers upon arrival Monday, and they tracked down the owner, who stated he had no intention of returning the grill. I was pleased that the property managers rented a grill for us to use during our stay, but it was delivered to the main house Tuesday morning, and this location is an addendum behind the house. I spent the entire day not at the beach, but in the house waiting for a grill. At 4:50 I called the property manager again and they basically said to look around for it, but it wasn't there. I said I wasn't comfortable going onto the property of the main house, but they insisted it was fine. I didn't agree because if I found a grill and moved it, am I stealing someone's grill? It was an uncomfortable discussion that left a bad taste. Eventually we did get the grill and we were able to identify it as a rental, and we were happy with the outcome. Overall - excellent vacation. After several days the listing is not updated so be aware there's NO GRILL.

Great for a couple

This place was absolutely perfect!!! This trip was me, my husband and our 11month old. With that said it was hard not having a whole other bedroom for our little! However that was totally on us and still a fantastic place! We were able to put her crib in a spot where she really could see us and it was fine for our short weekend get away! However when it will just be my husband and I we will 100% be renting again!! For 2 people it was the perfect size! It was clean and stocked with all the kitchen supplies you’d need! I can’t say enough about this little place! The walk to the beach was super close and a great spot! Again only good things about this little gem!!

DISAPPOINTED

Thought we would be able to at least see the ocean, only to find out the pictures advertised were not even where we were to stay, we were in a back alley way with good access to beach but no view at all. Thought i ask enough questions but was not told the truth by VRBO very nice apartment but a little hard to get in & out the front door, needs safer access at the back or front of the apartment

Cozy comfort Kure

Enjoyed our stay at this little home. Perfect for 2. My only “complaint” was we were left 2 bath towels for 2 people for 5 days and no washer. I believe the rental company’s linens procedures dictate that and really should be adjusted. This linen policy also had us put our own sheets on the bed, which I’ve never had to do before. Aside from that, this lovely little place is perfect for 2 ppl. Very close to beach, beautifully decorated, great layout and ease of use.

Close to the beach and a very comfortable stay!

The property was clean, cute and fancy, and had a cool and a comfortable temperature. I liked the convenience of the combo lock, the close proximity to the beach, the nice beach access, the secludedness of the property, and several other attributes. I appreciated the size of the refrigerator. The place made my daughter and I's stay relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable. We will return to it if we are in the area in the future!

Details make all the difference, or not.

The place is compact but not terrible for two people. It is cut up a bit so watch your step. It looked clean as well. However there were roaches. What was interesting was the lack of attention to little things. For example, one bath towel per person … for a week? I had not planned to go to the laundromat for a one week visit to wash towels. Another example is kitchen supplies. When the non stick surface from the non stick pans is missing, something to scrub the pan would have been very helpful. There are others but I will stop here. There is a price point for minimalistic, just not sure this was quite there.

Lies and deceitfulness. Beware of Bryant Reality.

Pictures look great…✔️beach looks beautiful ✔️ Area has great reviews ✔️ so we book this place for 3 days to relax for the beginning of our “beach vacation”. Well it was a SHAM and we were dumbfounded and appalled that they rented to us and never mentioned there was a beach replenishment project. While we completely understand the project is necessary, we definitely would have gone somewhere else and come here at another time when the project was completed. It is beyond egregious that it was not mentioned to us as the beach is the reason we chose to visit this location. The condo was ok but the beach had a HUGE pipe (about 3 or 4 feet high) running along the water for miles . There were construction trucks up and down the beach, it smelled of diesel , workers were yelling orders and to get to the water you had to climb up a sand ramp over the pipe. Not one word was mentioned to us before we arrived for our “beach vacation”. We rented through VRBO and the host was Bryant Reality. Bryant said there was a note on the top of the website saying there was a beach nourishment program going on but the listing shows a beautiful serene beach. VRBO’s website did not mention anything. Bryant sent us a 12 page contract and on page 7 item 26 states: 26. BEACH NOURISHMENT: Some oceanfront areas may be part of beach nourishment projects. Projects are planned by individual towns and are weather dependent, therefore schedules cannot be set or confirmed in advance. Tenant may be subject to inconvenience during these projects. No refunds will be given. So let me ask …..Are you thinking about what beach nourishment is or has ever heard of it unless you own property on or near a beach when you are planning your beach vacation? Needless to say we left the next morning as there was no way we could sit, walk or enjoy the beach and asked for a refund. As of today Bryant Reality has only said we should have seen Bryant’s website message. Feel free to google a picture of what a re nourishment looks like. It probably is very similar and might as well be the beach by the rental. I was unable to attach the picture or I would have. It is our opinion Bryant Reality is a dishonest, heartless, lying, uncaring money maker with no respect for the customer. We are MAD as hell that we were made fools of and taken advantage of on our 1 trip of retirement.

Beware Huge Cockroaches!

Where do I start. My husband and I booked this property for a short couples getaway. I was so excited leading up to the trip. The pictures posted are what lured me in the first place. Beware. The real estate agency did a great job hiding the bug infestation but once you enter the property that’s where the smoke and mirrors end. Within 30 minutes my husband killed no less than 10 cockroaches and centipedes. In fact one of the cockroaches was the size of your entire thumb and that was putting it mildly. He would kill one bug and then another would come out. Mind you we didn’t even have enough time to get unpacked before the roaches started scurrying all over the place. I immediately called Bryant Real Estate to complain and I was met over the phone by a lady who sounded like she just woke out of her bed and wasn’t interested in hearing the issue about the roaches. At one point I told her I was literally thinking about sleeping in my car in fear that I’d be covered in bugs. She told me she would contact an exterminator and no one could come out until the next day. On the next morning, I get a voicemail from Chris the property manager saying someone would be out to exterminate the property later that day. When the supposed exterminator showed up he looked like a guy off the corner as he was holding a can of bug spray. I asked the guy what he was going to do about the roaches and he says these roach traps and bug spray should do the job. I turned and politely told him the bigger issue is there is a gapping hole around the door and that’s most likely where the bugs are coming in. This guy didn’t have urgency nor professionalism then responded the owners might not get the door replaced until late Fall season and left. Later property manager, Chris, called to follow-up from so called exterminator. I explained how disappointed I was about this entire ordeal. That my hubby and I drove almost 4 hours from home only to get a bug ridden property and they should have did the right thing in either finding us another location or discount the rate, after failing to deliver what was promised in the VRBO pictures. Long story short, Chris attempted to threaten us by saying I’d be more than happy to refund your money if you want to leave today, knowing there were no other vacancies anywhere on the beach. Shame on you Bryant Real Estate and your shady practices. DO NOT become a victim. If you stay here, you will surely regret it!

Awesome location

This property was exactly as described. The location could not have been better (right around the corner from beach access). The street was quiet and located close enough to restaurants and stores to make eating out and shopping convenient. While it is a small space, it is certainly enough to accommodate two people for a beach getaway. The kitchen was well-stocked and, although we brought everything we needed, there were little extras throughout the property that were unexpected (extra toiletries, etc., for those who forgot to grab something on their way out the door). They even left a card and chocolates for us, knowing it was an anniversary celebration. I would definitely stay at this property again. Thank you, Bryant Real Estate!
