Gojo Paradiso reminded me of a rural ski lodge built in the 1970s, got less and less use every year, and fell into mild disrepair without anything getting fixed or upgraded. Make sure you review photos of the rooms and common areas: floors are plywood. Utilities are old and outdated, lights bare fluorescents, door locks are weird or missing. Also, the bed was hard as a rock and you can feel all the springs. Rooms are cold and heating is by space heaters.
Location is kind of remote, about a 15 minute walk to a station. It's a lovely spot on a beautiful small river, but the neighborhood itself is full of abandoned homes, in the process of "renewal". It's totally safe because this is Japan and there is almost no crime, but it's a dilapidated area. If you want to be near the fun, you really want to stay about 15 mins to the NW or SW instead.
This place is most useful if you are booking in a group of six or so who can take over a whole three-room "home" and you want to save money, and you can benefit from the decent common area. Rooms also have a little space; we had a small table in our room which was useful.
But Gojo Paradiso is doing the minimum upkeep. The common towels and sponges get gross and are rarely changed. The whole place is decorated a little, but feels like your grandma's unfinished attic. I would not book again, I will spend a little more to be closer to Nisihiki Market or keep the same low price and move farther east.
