It was amazing to live a real Japanese experience in a really nice place
What a beautiful little house! It was lovely to have an authentic Japanese home base to return to every day. The house is in a residential area away from the city centre, so it's extremely quiet and relaxed. We felt completely safe and secure in the house, and I was very comfortable even without the aircon - the house was surprisingly insulated. The little veranda out back was a nice place to sit and have a drink in the evening. I also loved the bath/washroom. The only things I would say to watch out for are the mosquitoes (make sure you have bug spray!), and that if you don't want to walk ten minutes to the train station, it's quite hard/takes a while to get a taxi.
The pictures listed in the hotel listing are not at all accurate. In the pictures it shows a tatami may floor to sleep on, which is considerably more traditional and comfortable than the linoleum flooring in the hotel now. Additionally, the bedding that is provided is not adequate. The futon mattresses on the floor is far too thin and not suitable for a comfortable nights stay. I asked the company for additional mattresses and they would not provide.
I also did not appreciate the $1800 tax I was asked to provide at the end of my stay. This was not disclosed beforehand, and made it difficult as my group was not carrying cash.
Long story short, this hotel is clearly not described accurately, and the level of comfort it provides is grossly insufficient.

Very nice
I don't know the original price but I went here during covid (with some discount ) and it's a really nice house. You get some nice utilities (washing machine, kitchen and a pocket wifi...). The house is typical Japanese style, very clean, staff has clear English indications.
2 'malus' point (not dependents from the staff). The neighbor put television from 6 am every morning ^^ and the toilet that is outside (like a room in front of the little garden) is not my style ^^.
Otherwise, highly recommend.

Antique guest house
The place has its original Japanese home decor and met our needs in terms of experiencing the local guest house. Although it is homey, it will be great if the house is maintained well. The interior is rather old and perhaps that is the way it preserves its antiqueness. Perhaps one thing that can be improved would be providing a guide on lightings in the house at the self-check-in table with the remote controllers, so as to allow convenience for guests to navigate themselves around the house. Unfortunately, when we checked in, it was after sunset (winter time), thus, it was dark but we had to locate lighting switches around the house.
Very traditional Japanese house, with tatami mats and nice little yard. The house is clean, shower room is surprisingly spacious, the washroom/toilet is outside of the house, at the corner of the yard. It's a great place if you want to experience some Japanese lifestyle. Highly recommend. The only concern I had was that I saw a cockroach in the living room tatami, it was the first time I've seen one in my life, did freak out a little, but as I googled roaches are very common in Japan, they just simply thrive in hot humid weather.
