We rented this cabin on a whim to do something before our children went back to school. It is definitely a “modern” cabin. It had WiFi, TV, shower, kitchen, fridge. The fridge portion didn’t keep things as cold as I would like but the freezer was working fine. The only thing the cabin didn’t have was AC and it definitely warmed up and didn’t cool down quickly at night, but it wasn’t that big a deal. It was almost 90F the days we were there and the caretaker told us that it had a heater bc it’s usually cold there as opposed to hot.
It was a tight squeeze for 4 people (2 adults/2 kids) but there was a fold out futon that the kids slept on just fine. Not much room to do much but sit inside, although the wrap around porch and outdoor table and chairs were great to have. We brought our 65lbs dog and he was able to roam around the back of the cabin on a 25ft tie out leash and be content as well.
We spent the majority of our time fishing, hiking and swimming at Little Green Valley Reservoir, about 5-10 min away from the cabin. We had no idea what we’d find there but it turned out to be amazing! The lush greenery was great for hiking, and there were so many hidden/secret beaches to find along the way. The water was clear, clean and cool. My husband and son had a great time fishing on the dam side of the reservoir, and there were some breathtaking views to be seen. As an active, adventure seeking family, we couldn’t have asked for more.
I highly recommend this place. We’re already making plans to come back in the winter when it’s snowing to see how different everything will be with the change of weather. The hosts communicated quickly with me, there was a caretaker on site to help with what we needed. And there was even the CUTEST dog named Norman who gave my husband a big hug when we left the cabin.
Thanks for a great and memorable trip!
