I stay in the single room. Mattress was broke. And dipped in the middle. I had an awful night sleep. Dark hairs still in the shower, not as clean as previous stays. I’ve stayed before and it’s been fine but this time unfortunately wasn’t great.
I also had to miss out on breakfast, usually it’s 730am but when I went to go down at 730am there was a sign saying breakfast at 8am. But I had to leave at 8am.
Overall a bit of a shame, the pub was great though, I had a lovely dinner and staff were fab.

The bed was very comfy. Could have done with a few more teabags than two.

Hi the hotel was clean & tidy but everytime i used the toilet ir sink or shower there was a loud nouse comung from behind the wall gat lasted for about 10 seconds it even made a noise when orher guest fkushed there toilets so we had a very restless slepp aoartmt from that everything was ok .
A delightful hotel, very clean and comfortable. The pub food was delicious and well priced. A special mention of Steven who was most helpful offering good advice. I’d score this place a 10/10 and would happily recommend this hotel to family and friends.
Suited me because it is out of town, not too big, friendly and helpful staff

Historic Liverpool pub with rooms. Located in suburb of Childwall 4 miles from city centre. Rooms are basic and could do with upgrading but for short term stays, did what was required. Staff very friendly and helpful in the morning but check in was laboured and took far too long.
We had a great stay at the Childwall Abbey Hotel. We stayed there as we were going to Anfield. It was only £12 for a taxi to the ground. Hotel was clean, tidy and staff were lovely. Especially Steven who gave us great tips on Beatles places to visit. Including Strawberry Fields and Lennons house which is 5mins away from Hotel. Will go back if we are lucky enough to get more football tickets.
One night stay. It's a pub with rooms above, set in a hamlet on the edge of an established housing estate. Quite noisy when we arrived - a Saturday - but had quietened down by the time we went to our room.
Positives: good variety of food, the usual pub fare, but tasty and was just what we wanted. Excellent wifi. Very comfortable bed. Nice full English in the morning.
Downsides? Rooms are upstairs with no lift, so possibly not for those with a mobility problem. The toilets seemed to have a mulcher, so were noisy, but not a big issue. The main problem was ventilation: the window opening was very small and it being mid-August it was very warm and stuffy. There was a plug-in fan but it was wee and was too loud to use. That said I slept well although my wife struggled with the heat.
Overall a decent stay, handy for Liverpool you don't want to stay in the city.
The hotel is badly in need of refurbishment.
We stayed in the Henry Irving room which was oppressively hot and noisy. Smell from the cooking downstairs was in the room all evening.
The staff were pleasant and helpful and the bedding and towels spotlessly clean.
Beautiful building but in need of major update.
Lovely pub food and service very good, lovely surround outside the pub very satisfied for what we needed for the overnight stay

Disappointing lack of breakfast
Very comfortable BUT having ordered and paid for a Full English Breakfast, I discovered on arrival that the serving time for Breakfast on Saturdays was LATER 8.30am than my required departure time: 8.00-8.15am. Arrangements were set-up for a Continental-style breakfast BUT that did not happen: staff not available until just AFTER 8.00am. So, no breakfast provided, despite payment. No refund yet ...
Lovely old building, very welcoming staff and great breakfast

A lovely stay, live not far from area and have noticed this place before. I was a bit disappointed with no heating in the room, tried to get it working but it was broken without us being notified. Staff was friendly 😊
