Not a four (4) star hotel
Stayed in the hotel for three nights. One night alone, and two additional nights with a friend, as we were four guys, who came to see Liverpool FC match. - First night was relatively good, but some surprising shortcomings in a hotel of this age (new). The air suction in the bathroom kept intermittent noise, which I couldn't switch off myself. It just came and went. Another thing was the shower head, which came off from the shower hose. Cannot believe this kind of fault could happen in a hotel that claims to have four (4) stars. - The other two nights we stayed in a double room. First the bathroom sink was partially clogged. When mentioned to the reception, they rectified this. However, there was not ventilation in the room. We couldn't get the control to work. When mentioned this to the reception, they said that they'd send an "engineer". Not improvement. Mentioned it again on day of my departure, and again engineer was promised. Don't know if this happened. - Worst disappointment was dinner. We all four selected two course menu. In no particuclar order, the verdict on starters in scale of 1 to 10 was 3, 4, 4 and 6. Of the main courses verdict was 2, 4, 4 and 6. Service was poor. While the server (apparently American from Chicago) was chatting loudly with the table next to us, he paid no attention to us, never asked how was the meal. Neither the Maitre d', nor the Captain were attentive. Out of five stars, I would give just the one.
