Wonderful stay! Ed is a excellent host! There was fresh fruit, bread, eggs and a cake waiting for us along with a chilled bottle of wine and a roaring fire! We had many adventures exploring the area, including France Park and Kokomo Beach Adventures. Thank you Ed! Your property and extra attention made for an excellent vacation.

Indiana Getaway
We were greeted by Ed and shown around the site and cabin. As indicated, we had a fire going, wine chilling and the supplies indicated in the refrigerator. Ed made our stay delightful, always there to assist when needed. He even let us borrow his tubes for the river. My grandson enjoyed all of the amenities, especially the newly installed pickle ball court. And the biggest treat for him was Ed letting him drive the golf court. For a relaxing week-end getaway or even longer, this is the place. Cabin was comfortable and your surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely return!! Thank you, Ed, for a relaxing getaway!

Girl's Weekend
What a lovely little space nestled in the woods alongside the river. We enjoyed a quiet and relaying break. Everything you could want for outdoor fun was provided. Nice fire and ready hot tub awaited us as we checked in. Ed met us at the entrance and showed us around. He is very hospitable and made sure we had anything we could need, including directions and recommendations for places within the nearby community to eat or shop. The Portobello was exactly what these teachers/mommas needed to unplug and relax.

was not aware of late fee check inn as that has never happened to us before with VRBO but owner insisted that we be given instructions upon arrival which he did and it was after 9:00pm so.was thankful for his patients.

AMAZING GETAWAY!
This was the 2nd time my husband and I booked one of Ed’s cabins! We had the perfect trip with our two dogs! The lake is absolutely beautiful and the cabins are extremely well kept! You can definitely tell how much love and work puts into this place! Ed makes sure you have literally everything you need for a peaceful beautiful getaway! We will definitely be returning soon! :)

Extreme natural family weekend on the Wabash River
Our family gathered in the cabin on Friday evening. Ed was a wonderful host and he did a remarkable job of orienting us to the cabin as well as the historic grounds alongside the river. We enjoyed kayaking the Wabash river as a group, alongside the abundance of nature. This was a great place for bird watching as we witnessed many different species including sightings of the bald eagle and great blue heron. Each evening we enjoyed a campfire as night closed in and the temperature dropped. The moon, stars, and the sounds from the wooded surroundings created a perfect atmosphere for relaxing in the hot tub. The cabin was furnished with more than the basic essentials and we were able to enjoy our meals together both inside and out of the cabin. This was a weekend retreat our family will always remember! Thank you, Ed!

Pictures don’t do the setting justice. The property is a lovely getaway from city life with peaceful surroundings. In addition, lots of nice amenities for children and adults to play outdoor games and canoes/kayaks available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The grounds are beautiful. The breeze off the river keeps the bugs at bay and the sunsets are spectacular. The property manager, Ed, is the nicest and most attentive manager I've ever dealt with. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Little Getaway
We enjoyed EVERYTHING about our stay! The cabin was clean and comfortable for our family of 4 and our small dog. The setting was perfect with lots of fun activities along the river (canoeing, kayaking, yard games, fishing, hot tub, stocked fire pit, small playground and bouncy house, etc.). Despite the peaceful, rustic-ish environment, there were NO MOSQUITOES! One highlight of the trip was seeing the local bald eagle only a short canoe ride from our cabin. France Park was 1 mile away and is a must-visit for hiking, fishing, natural wonders, and an epic “floating city” for beach goers. Ed was a wonderful host and has put lots of care into his property to ensure all his guests enjoy themselves. He really went above and beyond to make our stay extra special for us and our kids. This was our first visit to “The Morels on the Wabash”, but it won’t be our last. Highly recommended for families with a sense of adventure and couples looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway.

Great cabin/tiny house on the River
This was our second time staying here. Edward was just as welcoming this time — a log two feet across and 1.5 feet long was going in the fire pit when we arrived, wine was on ice, there was milk, watermelon, cheese, and eggs in the fridge, and fresh fruit and a cake on the counter — seriously taken care of. You have a bedroom with a bed for two, a loft which could easily sleep 4, and a futon with upper bunk in the main room. There’s both gas and charcoal grills outside alongside a picnic table and the hot tub. My favorite spot is the front porch, in a comfortable chair looking out on the River…. rain or shine. Canoeing, fishing, croquet, take some golf swings, horseshoes. Basically, you don’t need to bring anything with you for a fun few days!

Highly Recommended! Perfect
You will be very happy if you reserve a stay at the lovely Morels cottages. We had such a nice time relaxing by the riverway, the campfire and enjoying the hot tub. Mr. Ed Dawson was such a gracious host. He went above and beyond to ensure the total comfort of all his guests which made the stay just perfect in every way. The cottage was next to the Wabash River and we loved canoeing the waterway, seeing wildlife and Eagles soaring above. The nearby parks had beautiful paved walking trails. The local residents were very friendly. Downtown Logansport was lovely with large, fresh flower baskets everywhere. Please take our advice and book a stay at The Morels. It is a relatively short car trip from the Chicagoland area (under 3 hours) which was a real plus. The property was clean, well stocked with delicious fresh food and was in a beautiful locale. I want to thank Mr. Ed Dawson again for all he did to make our stay so nice. I just hope there is a vacancy for us so we can visit again soon!

This property is a must stay!!
We were looking for a relaxing and carefree getaway, and we found the perfect place. We enjoyed fishing, hiking at the state park. playing cornhole, and hitting a few golf balls. At night, we relaxed by the fire then sat in the hot tub to finish the evening. We had the perfect host too. Ed took the time to tell us about the history of the area and gave us a tour of the place and all the amenities. He makes it a point to great his guest and make them feel welcome and offer his services but does it in away that you still have your space and privacy. We enjoyed him so much that we now feel like we have gained a friend from our stay and will definitely return.

My wife and I were just looking for a nice relaxing getaway, we definitely got that and absolutely loved everything about the property! We stayed in the Portabella cabin and it was perfect. Weekend getaway
Had a two day college reunion with 4 of us. Great, secluded location with a lot of privacy. Owner had a camp fire going with minor maintenance, and lasted the whole time (even through rain). Cabin is small, but really only used it to sleep/play cards. Did sleep 4 of us comfortably. Nice relaxing weekend.

Nice property. Host was terrific!! Beautiful scenery and very relaxing! Ed was great - thanks for the cake and having all the extras - from eggs to an abundance of firewood to tomatoes we plucked off the vine. Our family really enjoyed the stay!
