Island Park Cottage- 2 bedroom home on the Lake

Island Park Cottage is a large and private property with a cozy open concept 2-bedroom home located on the lake in Gun Barrel City. Perfect for a family getaway or a small group of friends, you will have direct access from the backyard to the lake for less than most other waterfront homes on the lake. Only an hour away Dallas, Cedar Creek Lake combined with Island Park Cottage is the perfect destination for those looking to escape the city life for a few days.
Located in a quiet neighborhood in Gun Barrel City, you can take a walk or ride a bike through the neighborhood. You have access to the Walmart and Brookshires Grocery store within a few minutes' drive. Visit the multiple local restaurants or choose to eat at home on the water.
Inside of home:
Open concept living room/kitchen
Living room has sofa, leather side chair, tv with Hulu, Netflix and Disney Plus. Fireplace has electric heater insert.
Kitchen contains: refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave, blender, food processor, toaster, instant pot, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, cooking spices.
1st Bedroom: Queen bed with bedding and pillows.
2nd Bedroom: Full bed, twin bed and pull out twin bed, bedding, pillows, tv with Old School video games.
Bathroom: Stand up shower basic toiletries.
Sunroom: sofa with queen sleeper, washer/dryer, full length wrap-around drapery for privacy.


On the Outside:
The lake levels can vary throughout the year, please ask about current lake levels if your visit will include plans to get out on the lake.
Raised deck from the back door with outdoor seating including a couch and a bar/table for eating.
The grill is located right off deck.
with overhead string lights to help see across the expansive backyard.
A paddleboard and kayak as well as life vests are provided (You may want to bring your own to assure proper fit).
Fish directly from our lower dock,
Stairway with rails to help you get in and out of the water.
Three beach cruisers and a jr. bike.
Dock to tie off boat for day use. We do not recommend leaving your boat in overnight as there is not a boat lift and can be damaged if the water gets rough. Tying up to the dock is done at the guest's risk. We take no responsibility for any damage that could occur to your boat. Local boat ramp is less than 5 minutes away.
***Please note that we are currently working on an upper deck at the water. Though it is almost complete, it is not ready for guests and we ask that you stay away from that area. Please view the current deck in the backyard pictures. ***

Great in every way!
Courtney has put a great deal of though into making your stay relaxing, comfortable and stocked with essentials. It’s very clean and spacious with very comfortable sofas, chairs, and beds! The kitchen has all the essentials you’ll need, including lots of spices. It has a great view of the lake tributary from the patio deck outside or from the sunroom that runs the full length of the back of the house. Large trees to enjoy the shade. We enjoyed kayaking, and used the paddle board. The corn hole pad they’ve got is great fun too! Lights for outside ambience at night. We didn’t use the fire pit but it’s a great added feature. Great area to walk or bike the streets and enjoy the neighborhood. Courtney checks in to make everything is okay and was quick to respond when one set of lights didn’t work due to power outage. It was an easy fix. Loved our stay and we’ll be back.

Wonderful lake house getaway
This sweet lake house was even better than expected. It was perfectly clean and the host had provided everything you would want or need to fully enjoy the stay. The house is perfectly decorated and has every comfortable of home including a fully stocked kitchen, bathroom necessities such as fresh toothbrushes and nice toiletries, fluffy comforters, and a nice smell greets you when you arrive. The closed in patio is nice for morning coffee with a view of the lake and there is a large outdoor area with activities if you want to partake. Courtney was quick to answer any question we had and made the experience so nice. My daughter and I will be back next time we go to Canton!

Amazing and responsive host, warm, inviting, and spotless!! So glad we chose this Vrbo… we picked based on proximity to my daughters Gun Barrel City house. We are returning because we absolutely loved the space! I especially liked the sunroom, felt like I was outside without being out in actual heat of the day. Cortney is the Best!!

Details Matter!
I have stayed at many VRBO properties over the years and this is #1 on my list for the attention to all the details that made my Mom’s stay comfortable. We normally rent something larger, to fit our family of 10, but this time it was just my Mom and me with my daughters visiting. The size was perfect! A spectacular getaway
If you're looking for peace and solitude topped off by stylish and comfortable surroundings, then this is it!! This place is a true gem from top to bottom. We enjoyed our stay here so much on our very first family ladies' trip and this adorable home provided everything that we could ask for. We absolutely love the ability to sit on the dock, fish and take in the outdoors plus have to use of the fantastic, enclosed patio room when it was raining. You cannot go wrong here! Thank you so much for such a wonderful place!

We’ve stayed at mini vacation rental location and this one supersedes them all by far! Courtney has given careful attention to all the little details. Decorating was in keeping with the theme of the property and we found the rental to be clean and very well stocked with everything we needed from condiments to water to bug spray.

Relaxed to the Max
This was a nice & cozy spot, perfect for my boyfriend & I to have a relaxing getaway. I informed Courtney that we were celebrating a belated birthday & an upcoming birthday, and she surprised us with a cake & balloons. The house was very clean & had everything that we needed. Although the house was nice & comfortable, we spent most of our time outside on the backyard deck, by the firepit and on the deck by the lake. Courtney reached out to us to make sure that our stay was going ok & to let us know to reach out to her if we needed anything. We will most definitely be returning!

Thanksgiving Stay Review
The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and necessities. Living area pleasant and included fall decorations. Very clean place. Towels very nice. The Sun porch looks pleasant. However, we were limited to the house, due to rain and temp. Gracious hostess. I let my friend stay in the main bedroom and I was stuck with with the second bedroom. Ugh! Bunk beds, no table and lamp! (So this rental is limited to a couple with kids.) You can’t read, have a leisurely cup of coffee in bed etc. Used my cooler to sit items.on! TV choices and Wi-Fi were bad. The tv on line has outdated choices and I can’t recommend HULU. The bathroom needs a small table to sit toiletries etc. on. Either you try to balance your items on the sink or place on the floor. I recommend you get a narrow table with chairs that you sit behind the sofa. Not everyone wants to sit on bar stools. Per my friend, the bed in main bedroom needs a step stool. I do appreciate you driving over on Thanksgiving to help us with the tv! Hope this helps! Glenda

Cottage on the lake
This cute little house is on the canal very close to the open lake. Everything was provided for in this house. Beds and bedding were extremely comfortable! We loved spending time on the closed in porch since it was too hot to sit outside. Unfortunately, due to the drought there wasn't any water in the canal. Other than that, this stay was perfect!

Great get away
This place was just as pictured if not better. Our family enjoyed hanging out at the house and kids loved playing corn hole. We were disappointed we couldn’t do water activities due the low lake level and extreme heat, but we made the best of it. Homeowner had great suggestions of indoor things to do that my kids loved.
