Good things first- someone has obviously put a lot of thought into converting this loft space into chic apartments. Very modern, very clean, maybe a little sterile but makes sense for long term rentals. The beds were soft, linens were nice. The location is great if you want to be downtown- we had an excellent dinner at The Mediterranean Joint and unique ice cream at Good News Cafe. Gym facilities and laundry were both great. There were plates and dishes but a weird sign saying they hadn’t been sanitized and recommending bleaching them- however no bleach was provided. That just made me feel like the dishes were dirty? The biggest problem is the lack of sound proofing. The room above ours had a dog who had barkingjags from 7:20-11:00 pm. He would start and then stop, and then start. At 11 the owner came home and you could hear every clack of her heels on the floor, her delighted greeting of the dog. Then intermittent echoing thumps as the dog dropped his bone (?) on the floor (that’s what it sounded like). I almost fell asleep by midnight when a train went by and blew its horn for two minutes straight. Needless to say, this was not the most restful night. In terms of communication, the listing says “parking available” but only the day before you arrive do they tell you it’s an extra 29 a day. Also, you will get about 8 texts and emails prior to checkin. There is no one staffed in the building, only an emergency number to call. Is dog barking an emergency? Unclear.
