Welcome to our vintage riverfront cottage located steps from the Siuslaw river and our deep water dock. Located in a forested river valley, we have amazing views and a diverse variety of wildlife. The cottage has been tastefully renovated with shiplap interior walls, updated electrical, plumbing and windows while restoring most of the historical features.
The Space
A full size bed await you in the cozy sleeping nook on the main floor plus two twin mattresses in the sleeping loft. The bathroom has an attached walk in closet with plenty of storage. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware. A full size refrigerator/freezer, stove, combination air fryer/microwave/convection oven, coffee maker, blender, crock pot and toaster are included.
Just off the kitchen is a laundry room with more room for storage of your gear.
The ground level deck has fabulous views of the river, dock and mountains. Plenty of space to use our outdoor grill and enjoy river time.
Guest Access
The cottage is all yours. Follow the sidewalk behind the garage to your private entrance facing the river. The cottage is located on a parcel along with our main house. You may park up to two cars. One in front of the path to the cottage and the other in the single space directly behind. We do have 220v 50A and 120v outlets available for charging your electric vehicles.
The property
We respect your privacy. The main house is on the same lot but there are separate outdoor areas on both sides of the house.
We have two small friendly dogs (one of them does like to bark at new people until she gets to know you).
Other Details
Swimming and water access are at your own risk. Be aware this is a tidal river and the current can flow in either direction depending if it is an incoming or outgoing tide.
Even on a rainy day it’s great to warm up by the fireplace, read a good book (we have many to choose from) or watch the weather.
Neighborhood
Property is wooded with a lot of space between neighbors and the Siuslaw National Forest to the south.
There is plenty to do like fishing from the dock or take the canoe or kayaks, or bring your boat and fish the Siuslaw River or all the way to the ocean. Salmon fishing abounds most years on the river. Be sure to check out on line what the restrictions are before you go and get a license. If crabbing is more your style there is a public dock in Florence and one at the south jetty you can drive to.
Getting around
The Sweet Creek Falls are just down the road with plenty of hiking and of course the beautiful water falls.
The city of Florence is only twenty minutes to the west that has lovely shops and restaurants.
There are several places in town you can access the beach along the ocean.
Eugene is an hour away, but there’s a quaint covered bridge off of Highway 126 that is well worth stopping by on your way.
Ah, but we can’t forget the dune’s. This part of the state is known for it’s sand dunes. There are several places in Florence where you can rent ATVs or take guided tours of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation area.
