House was described as "detached" - it is not!! ... it is actually joined to at least one, if not two properties that have rooms above and below the house and although neighbours were quiet, you could hear people walking around, doors shutting etc. In addition, the property was described as having four bathrooms - it does not!! .... what it actually has, in the corner of each bedroom, is a shower and a basin. The property has three toilets - one of which is directly off the kitchen and another is outside (and full of cobwebs) in the pool house.
Besides all of this, we did have a pleasant stay - inside, the house is modern, clean and well equipped, and outside, the pool is fantastic and the hot tub was great. It was great have the pool table (inside) and the table tennis table (outside)
Fantastic boulangerie five minute walk away which is open every day except Thursday but, other than that, there are no bars or restaurants which are in walking distance.
Owners were very helpful and were there to meet us when we arrived to show us around the property. There was a slight language issue as they did not speak English (although a son came along who spoke a little English) ... with our pigeon French and their little understanding of English we managed to largely understand each other.....
Whilst we were there, we visited Aix (lovely old town about 30 minutes drive), Cassis (old fishing port about 20 minutes drive), La Ciotat (another port which is less touristy than Cassis - also about 20 minutes away) and Marseilles (again about 20 minutes drive). Also went to watch marseilles FC v Ostend FC at Marseille's Orange Veldorome for €5 a ticket - fantastic atmosphere amongst a 46000 crowd...
