Ladies Weekend
Great place for our ladies weekend. The house had everything you could need and more. We were a group of friends staying for a long weekend and loved the house. The owner was extremely helpful and reached out directly as soon as I booked. Then he checked in again before our trip with helpful information and tips. We appreciated all the amenities on site and how well stocked it was. I’ve stayed in lots of rentals and loved that we didn’t need to remember towels or soap or trash bags or anything like that. They even provided coffee filters and there was an extra mini fridge in dining room. We shared so many laughs around the oversized gorgeous table. This would be a great house for friends, couples, extended families, or anyone. Lots of space to spread out and activities to keep everyone occupied without ever needing to leave the house. We’re already planning a return trip!

Outstanding Stay!
The Retreat was the perfect place for our large group (4 families with elementary school kids). Plenty of space, a lot to do with the hot tub, heated game room in the garage and movie theater, and really close to the slopes. Dan was a great host as well!

Great Place for Large Families to Gather at the Holidays!
we had multiple families coming from different locations to celebrate an early Christmas and this was a great place. It is how it is presented - a little dated, but still having all of the amenities that were advertised and we wanted! Dan is great with any issues we had - just needing to know where something was, and responded very quickly via text. Everything in the house is properly labeled and much appreciated! The movie theatre and game room are added touches that made our family experience even better!

Family Fun
This property is so much fun! We stayed and had 6 adults and 6 kids (ages 5-12). The theater room, game room and hot tube were perfect to keep everyone entertained and enjoying themselves. The location was very close to the Massenutten Adventure Park where we went snowtubing. The owner was delightful to work with! He communicated clearly and in a timely manner regarding check in and check out. Would definitely stay again!

Family Vacation
We absolutely loved this house! Our family enjoyed a great week in Massanutten, and even with the rainy weather we encountered, the house provided plenty of entertainment for everyone in our group. The kids loved the theatre room, game room and even the hot tub! The resort also had plenty of entertainment options for everyone in our families. The home was fully stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. all we had to bring was food. The beds were also extremely comfortable, and we all felt well rested. The host was very responsive to our questions, and extremely friendly. We will absolutely stay here again in the future! Highly recommend a stay at this property!

The owners of this house are so awesome. I received a phone call from the owner making sure we didn’t need anything. This is a very nice and spacious house with an amazing movie theater, game room and candy vending machine.🤗 My children and grandchildren absolutely loved! I highly recommend staying at this house.

Great House/Location For All Ages
This property was perfect for what we needed. We had adults from mid-20's to mid-60's and kids from 4 to 14 and they all enjoyed it! Plenty of space to spread out. The hot tub, game room, and theater were all a hit! I loved that light switches and cabinets/drawers were labeled. The beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. And it was close to lots of fun - water park, go karts, mini golf. We had one issue, but the owner was very responsive and accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again!

JMU Homecoming Trip
Absolutely incredible stay at this property. A house full of JMU Alumni coming into town for homecoming. Started with the drive in and the beautiful lake within walking distance of the house. The house itself was extremely clean and well stocked with everything we could possibly need. My personal favorite aspect was the theater room in the basement which we put to use watching Halloween movies Saturday night. The beds were very comfortable so we all got a great night sleep. We always have a large group return for homecoming every year and this house was the perfect fit. Will definitely be looking to book it again in the future!

My family and I LOVED this house! There were 15 of us in total and there was still plenty of space for us to spread out. The theater room is great and I couldn't get enough of the hut tub. Having the "game room" was very nice too. Everything was as described in the listing. I would highly recommend this rental house.

This house was perfect for our large family reunion. We had four families stay here comfortably, and the layout was perfectly suited for our group. The Retreat is great!
Our extended family of 12 had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend stay at the Retreat. It is a beautiful property. Our grandchildren loved the game room, and the movie theater was a big hit with everyone. The hot tub and the barbecue grill made for perfect evenings spent in the backyard. The kitchen was fully stocked, there was a plentiful supply of pillows, blankets, and towels, and the bunk bed rooms were a plus for the little ones. Breakfast on the large deck with a view of the mountain and deer was a family memory-maker. Communication with owner was top notch. This was our second visit to Massanutten Resort and we can’t wait to come back again.

Perfect Location for Retreat - Heaven is in the details
We had an amazing time at The Retreat!! It was perfect for our high school seniors' youth group retreat. The students loved the game room with the ping-pong, pool, and foosball tables!! The hot tub was epic. And the house had everything we needed to make meals for 10+ people. Another highlight was the movie theater. We were very impressed by the personal touches like complimentary popcorn and the microwave right in the movie theater room. And most of the kitchen cabinets were labeled by what was in them - super helpful in an unfamiliar kitchen. Thank you so much for a perfect weekend stay!!! Also, highly recommend the blackberry jam/preserves from the gift shop, and the Ridgeline Hike is really cool - definitely difficult (none of us leaders could finish it [2 retirees and an almost 30-something moderately fit female], but most of the senior guys are athletes or at least fit, so all of them finished the hike).
