Whispering Pines - a Historic Mentone Home!

The perfect kick back and relax getaway. Spend your time at this country home with a sunrise over the pines or gather the family for cooking in the large fully stocked kitchen with bar, eat in table, adjoining dining room and a picnic table in the sun room. You can also load the grill right out the back door on the patio and enjoy the fire pit and large sitting area.
Take a 5 minute walk to Moon Lake Village or cross the highway and take the sidewalk into downtown Mentone to browse the shops and have a relaxing meal at several great options.
Plenty of room inside and out for family fun or just a private nook to read a book!

Girl getaway
We loved the big room with the gas fireplace! Stayed warm. The layout was unique but didn't bother us. Wish the ice maker had been turned on ahead of time. But we enjoyed our stay, the beds were comfortable and we were close to everything we wanted.

Just sisters and sister n laws having a run away from home trip, fellowship and fun.
The place was great. The only thing I seen was it needs blinds on the bedroom windows. It is beautiful inside.

Great stay!
I enjoyed staying here with my husband, son, and parents. Great location with comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces. The only area of improvement I would note is that we ran out of hand soap and toilet paper by the last day--I would recommend stocking extra.

This property was clean, spacious and provided a very comfortable setting to visit, relax, and enjoy the scenery. The reservation process and communication with the property owner/manager was excellent as well.

Nice and quiet
We loved the house and location. Just what we were looking for. The house is very modern with lots of nice upgrades. However the kitchen was the only downfall. The microwave, stove top and ovens were so unclean we could not/ would not cook food. We tried to use the microwave once but it was so bad/dirty and smelled so bad that we could not eat the item we cooked. If you have a cleaning crew I don't think they have ever cleaned the microwave or stove. Please, don't take my word for tthe condition of these items. Go by after they "cleaned" and see for yourself. Other than that problem we really did love our stay. Thank you, John & Teresa Hunter

Plenty of room for parking trucks and trailers and bikes. Very comfortable home. Clean. Plan to reserve again for next years trip. Completely met our needs.

We had a prayer retreat at this home. It was a wonderful stay. I really hate to mention any issues, but I feel it will help. The house was clean and comfortable for our group. The only issues we had were: 1. The coffee pot was really nasty 2. The ice maker did not work 3. The washer and dryer were really loud 4. The dryer ate a couple of items of clothing (really) we were able to dig out these items from the back of the tub 5. The last load of laundry which was the house towels only got oil all over them. I really did hate to mention any of that, but we really wouldn’t mind staying if these things gets taken care of. Ms. Susan was awesome. She answered our calls and had someone out to check on ice maker when we called. I give it a 9 out of 10.

Peaceful Getaway
Our stay at Whispering Pines was great! It was very peaceful and comfortable. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed. My only issue was that we had no cell phone service. This is in no way a negative for the property! We have Verizon and could only get service if we drove into town. If you are needing to check in at home daily as we were, it would be an issue. That being said we would still stay here again!

Wonderful Place to Stay
We really enjoyed the house which has an old feeling yet is extremely well updated! Very nice amenities and much more spacious than expected! Plenty of privacy for all! Very clean too! Would definitely stay again in the future! Beautiful area too!

Unfortunately we were not able to stay our expected time. My husband required surgery this Monday so we had to cut our time short. It was very beautiful but we did have the time to enjoy it.

A wonderful place
A wonderful home,lots of updates ,really nice . A big yard outside,firepit w/chairs,lots of room esp if you have kid's.There is a smaller rental on property with a pond, looks nice also. Doesnt have a tv in bedroom #2, or shades. The steps going down into dining room are not good. But we loved the time there and im sure will also.... Karen

Relaxing weekend away
We had a great relaxing long weekend at Whispering Pines. The house was very well decorated and furnished. It had everything we needed for a nice stay. A short walk to Moon Lake village, and just down the road from Mentone.

Winter Family get-a-way
This was a very special trip for my family. My mom has wanted to visit Mentone for a couple of years and have all of her family with her. We finally made it happen for her this year. Whispering Pines was the perfect home for all of us. We had the best time just hanging out, cooking, grilling and sitting by the outside fire pit. We took one day to visit Mentone and shop and we went hiking at Little River Canyon and falls which was absolutely beautiful. This was a special time for my family to be together because we lost my 28 year old cousin and one of his favorite places to hike was at Little River Canyon. We prayed for snow and it snowed. Everything in this home was updated, clean and beyond anything we could have wanted or needed. Thank you so much for providing such a place for making memories!

Quiet get a way
