A truly away-from-it-all experience awaits you at this rustically chic retreat where wide countryside views and a peaceful pastoral setting create the perfect place for family holidays and relaxation.
Allercabin is one of four lovely holiday properties found on the 280 acre Allercott Farm which settles on the outskirts of Dunster; a Medieval village that's as historically fascinating as it is attractive. Within easy reach of the coast, it's ideally positioned for guests to enjoy the quiet of rural Somerset yet still be close to the area's towns, walks and attractions.
Designed to make the most of its picturesque setting, the cabin's views over pasture and countryside can be enjoyed from nearly every angle. Inside, you'll discover cool and contemporary furnishings as well as a host of creature comforts and luxuries, which means you'll have all you need to be able to truly unwind during your stay. Bifold doors from the living area connect the inside space with the outdoors so when it's warm, you can enjoy feasts in the fresh air or simply lazing in the sunshine. A wood-fired hot tub adds a touch of indulgence and invites soothing soaks at any time of the day or night.
A place for all seasons, Allercabin stays warm and toasty during the cooler months with a fabulous log burner in the main living area throwing out plenty of heat. The outside deck is partially covered too, which means that even when it's raining, you'll be able to sit out and take in the beautiful views of nature.
The village of Dunster which is just a couple of minutes' drive from the farm has many pretty tea rooms to visit and charming shops to peruse. You'll also find historic sites to explore such as the town's 17th Century octangular Yarn Market, and Dunster Castle with its working water mill. There are dog-friendly beaches within 6 miles of the farm including the pebble Dunster Beach which welcomes canines all year round, and Minehead. Porlock Weir is a 30 minute drive and well worth the trip for its beautifully clear water which is ideal for swimming, and so is the lovely beach at Lee Bay which can be reached through the Valley of Rocks from Lynton. Families will have a range of wonderful activities right on the doorstep including Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor's highest point, and Alpacas of Hall Farm which is just 10 minutes' drive from your cabin. Quince Honey Farm, Greencombe Gardens, the National Trust's Knighthayes and Doniford Farm Park are further afield, but terrific for a day out.
