10/10 experience overall. If you’re looking for a more relaxed/quiet resort, I wouldn’t advise booking here. On the other hand, if you’re looking to have the time of your life, I would book. The only thing that could’ve made my stay better was if the resort had more food options on the resort and late in the evening (after 10 p.m.). Make sure you visit their jerk chicken hut if you can.

We didn’t have any water for most of our stay. First day our room was moved because our hot water wasn’t working. Then when we got our new room the hot water worked for one day. On the other days we called the front desk for the same problems. Took hours for someone to come for them only not to solve the problem. Most of the trip we had to deal with cold showers .

Pros: good food and good drinks Cons: The hotel needs some renovations as my room was very outdated. There were rust marks all over the mirrors in my bathroom as well as the shower. I arrived at the hotel early and my room was not available until 4pm when check-in is 3pm. I was not able to visit any restaurants on the property due to them being closed because of the holiday.

Riu Reggae Was a great Stay
Our Stay at Riu Reggae was generally very good and relaxing. We noted that we were coming on our honeymoon and the staff took the effort to decorate our room which was very nice and greatly appreciated. The rooms and property were kept very clean. There is a lot of activities to participate in and we were able to walk to the nearby Riu Montego Pay for activities like Riu Party and water park. The Riu Reggae hosted the foam party which was very much fun. There is a private beach to the resort which is not huge but it is very good. The food tasted good too, breakfast was really good and I loved the Jamaican meals (Jerk, chicken , curry goat...). Overall it was a very good stay at Riu Reggae

What a fantastic property and wonderful people. The room was comfortable. and clean The hotel had plenty to see and do. The staff was super nice and genuine. No negatives at all. The property itself is a bit far from town. A $20 cab ride will get you to the shopping area, though.

Okay, but expected more for the price. If there is a 24 hr bar, there should be 24 hr decent food. Average liquor not available, Jack Daniels, lemoncello, amareto, serving low end local rum etc. Drinks very weak even after asking for doubles. Impossible to get a restaurant reservation as the a la carte restaurants are so small, even with limited options. Stop americanizing local food, make the local food taste authentic. Property was clean, plenty of lounge chairs, buffet had a wide selection, but did get monotonous. Events on stage resulted in loudness through the resort as the stage and building are adjacent. Staff friendly.

I have a love/ hate relationship with this property First the love: The people are amazing. Lots of friendly faces, the bar staff are great. The entertainment crew are friendly. Everyone staying there was so kind. Within the first day we made friends with a few groups. Since the place is small you run into the same crew and everyone there was super fun. They did an amazing job of making new years special with a special menu and entertainment. The eh: The beach area is small and is also the smoking area. Lots of kayaks selling, They are friendly but the beach is not a peaceful spot. There is only one restaurant open per night so it’s hard to get a reservation. The buffet food is good but after a few days repetitive. The booze is cheap.. like plastic bottle level cheap. So either bring something or know what it is. Overall: I would recommend for a young party crowd girls trip. Not a relaxing romantic get away. If you have been to higher end spots it will likely fall short but if you are new to travel and in a budget go for it.

I didn’t like how we had to wait over 2/3 hours just to get towels and face cloths to shower after informing housekeeping twice. Food options can be better had the same food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The other food restaurants were never open the entire stay. Overall nice resort but I wouldn’t stay again.
