Hotel Bonaparte has a great location within Old Montreal yet is also within a manageable walk to the primary downtown shopping area, as well as the waterfront, and Griffintown.
It offers a lovely, intimate scale, pleasant hotel rooms with wonderful high ceilings, charming French windows, comfy beds, stylish clean bathrooms and large walk in showers.
There is a very good dining room with excellent service and a delicious menu.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
For improvements:
-the magnetic key cards were constantly not working and needed to be reprogrammed:-(
-please, no more single use plastic toiletries… outfit the lovely bathrooms with refillable dispensers.
-the complimentary breakfast that gets delivered to one’s room is underwhelming, providing very mediocre (dry) croissants, and one has to go down stairs to fetch freshly brewed coffee with real cream or real milk, and only provides single use paper cups. Real mugs please !
-the elevator had a somewhat earthy/metal/workman odor which was a bit off- putting.
Despite the fee areas needing improvement, Hotel Bonapart warrants a return visit
