The Historic Cotter Presbyterian Church was built in 1914 and has been an iconic part of Cotter's downtown area ever since. The stained-glass windows are all original, as is the Bell in the Bell Tower! Our space is set up with the bedrooms downstairs and the kitchen/living area upstairs in the "sanctuary". There are plenty of beds for a group or a multi-family vacation. Come and stay in the Church for an experience like no other!!
The space
We wanted to preserve the history and beauty within this historic building and make it accessible to as many visitors as possible by listing it for groups or families after we finished the renovations. Come with your family & friends and enjoy a piece of history like no other! Cotter’s history was centered upon the Railroad which once included the Roundhouse and many other industries that utilized the nearby White River to service their customers. The Cotter Presbyterian Church was built in 1914 and served the town of Cotter for many years. In the early 80s the Church was renovated into office spaces that were used by a few businesses here in the town, to include the Chamber of Commerce. In 2018 a renovation to turn the Church into a residence began which brings us to 2020 where we stepped in to finish off what our friend had started. I (Jason) have some history with the Church, as I worked in one of the offices for a short time while I was in High School here in Cotter back in 1993. So when our friend approached us with the opportunity to continue the renovation on the Church, we jumped at the chance and were definitely up for the adventure!
