Big Buck Vacation Cabin
Tucked away on a pretty country lane sits the cabin called Big Buck…a place where the nature lover will find numerous outdoorsy things to do. A small pond just outside the front door is stocked with blue gill, bass, and catfish for the fisherman who brings along their favorite pole. Access to Lake Monroe, as well as Yellowwood State Forest are also close-by. Located halfway between Bloomington and Nashville, Big Buck is well situated for folks who want to attend sporting events at Indiana University, as well as hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking in Brown County State Park.
Big Buck cabin comfortably sleeps 4 people within its two bedrooms and the comfy lodge-pole pine queen beds, all decked out in cozy colorful quilts. There is one full bath. One of the bedrooms has satellite TV and one has a smart TV with Roku only.
The living room with satellite TV, dining area, and kitchen share a common space, which makes it nice when cooking and visiting with your companions. Here is where you’ll gather to socialize, watch TV, or cuddle up in front of the cute little woodstove with gas logs a-blazin’.
The cabin also provides DSL service, a DVD player and an Nintendo NEC Classic console . The whitetail deer theme is evident throughout the interior of the cabin…an appropriate look for nature enthusiasts.
This cabin has an outdoor hot tub and an outdoor charcoal grill.
A nice wide porch outfitted with rockers is an inviting spot to look out over the countryside, the pond, and the many blooming flowers and shrubs you’ll find throughout the property. If you’d like to tour some beautiful flower gardens, and the art gallery of early Brown County artist, the late T. C. Steele, you are just 1.5 miles from his former property. The T. C. Steele State Historic Site is so close to Big Buck cabin, you really should drive (or hike) over there and have a look around. T. C.’s wife, Selma, created beautiful wildflower gardens at “The House of The Singing Winds” which are lovingly maintained today by local volunteers; this property is a treasure not to be missed.
