The shower knob would not close fully so the water just kept flowing and it also changed from hot to cold without the use of adjusting the temperature.

This hotel is not that bad, it is close to Fifth Avenue and a few blocks from Time Square, the location is fine, but when you leave the hotel there are a lot of disgusting garbage bags, that area seems a little unsafe to me. The cleaning is fine, the cleaning lady was very polite and kind as were the people at the reception, what was terrible was the elevator, it was always full and sometimes we waited more than 30 minutes, and that was terrible. The breakfast room is very small and many times we had to eat breakfast in the room, I think I would not go back to that hotel.

Hotel is in a great location near a major subway stop, staff is very friendly and helpful, the bed and pillows were comfortable. The hotel is a bit overpriced given the competition in the area.

First time to NYC. Spent 4 nights at this hotel. Excellent breakfast every morning…it gets busy but they keep everything replenished, clean and lots of seating options…just need to be patient. Eggs, different breakfast meat every morning, hashbrowns, cereal, bread and bagels, waffles and really good coffee. Staff are always happy and helpful. Great with directions and advice. Room is clean and well laid out…there is some road noise but where doesn’t this exist in NYC! We had a great view of the Empire state building. The location is excellent - short walk to Empire, Macy’s (amazing at Xmas) , NYC library , Times, Rockefeller, St Pats , grand Central. Subway to get anywhere is literally at end of the street. We used it to reach Museum of Natural History, Met museum and ferry to Statue of Liberty. It can be confusing but after a 5 min explanation from the seasoned subway rider last at the front desk it helped simplify. I really appreciated the time they took to walk me over through all the options. Note that you can just tap your credit card every time you go onto the subway…loved that feature. We used the parking just down the street…great service and no damage to the car….it is $55/day with the hotel validating the ticket. Many great spots to eat nearby - highly recommend Roma pizza around the corner if you want a great New York pizza slice or two. We went back twice!

Only a couple of minor faults - Great hotel

Good stay with amazing team of staff, only potential downsides are not enough elevators and breakfast room is maybe not big enough for the amount of guests at the hotel

We will do it here again.

We overnight stayed Christmas Eve and were pleased with the stay. The convenience of its location ( proximity to Herald Square and main attractions in the city ) was the draw for us. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The bed as a true Hampton Inn customer, delivered its comfort. The room was small but it’s all we needed for this stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a family of 2 adults and 2 children. We were on the 4th floor which wasn’t too bad as could walk the stairs if the lifts were taking too long. Breakfast was included and they had bagels, waffles and cereals. The breakfast room was small and did get very busy. There is tea, coffee and hot chocolate available all day which is a nice perk. The rooms are comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. They will also store your luggage with no charge on the first and last day if necessary.

Would stay again

Amazing location with a metro entrance literally at the door. Easy to walk everywhere as well. Let us check in early and held our bags for free. Fast response to text request. Water pressure and temp were good. Only complaint is beds and pillows. Bed was hard and made a lot of metal sounds and the pillows were pointless. Loved the fridge. Could use coat hangers around the room for jackets since closet is so small
