Dissapointed with Hampton Inn
The location was excellent, but several problems here. First we called several times to reserve a crib for the room and were told no problem at all, we will definitely have one to use. Then when we arrived they did not have one, which meant two miserable nights with crying child in the bed. Second the elevator system is ridiculous. It often took 30 minutes for an elevator to come and we were on 35th floor so walking was not an option. Would not stay here again.

Waited for an up elevator for 15 to 20 minutes. A down elevator for 35 to 45 minutes. Room was really small. I hit the wall art as i got in and out of the bed.

My stay started off a little chaotic, but I also understand it was during one of the busiest times of the year in arguably the busiest area of Manhattan. Due to traffic and road work on Broadway & 48th, it took me over an hour to actually reach the hotel from 8th Ave and W 48th St (which is a couple blocks away). Obviously not the hotel's fault, but worth noting that during peak times it is not the easiest hotel to get to if you're driving. I parked in a spot in front of the hotel an hour before check-in. I called ahead and was told it's okay to arrive early. Once I came inside, I waited in line for quite some time (like I said, it was busy, this isn't the hotel's fault). When I got to the counter, I was told that my room wasn't ready yet (which I was okay with), but that they also weren't going to valet my car until my room was ready, after which I felt a bit dismissed. I then had to get to the back of the line and just wait around, hoping nothing was going to happen to my car. After waiting 30 minutes and then rejoining the line and waiting in line another 30 minutes, the room was ready and I was able to get my car valeted. All's well that ends well, but it was a very hectic hour in the lobby. The elevators only go to specific floors, which was okay for going up to the room, but getting down from your floor was a very slow process. Room was nice and quiet. Overall, not terrible, but I'll probably stay elsewhere next time.

This was a great stay. We could see the M&M store in Times Square from our window. It was a very nice hotel. The only issue we had was the elevator system. At busy times you had to wait a very long time for elevators because of the scanning system they have to get on them. Other than that great location and a perfect stay.

It was clean; staff helpful and very friendly; breakfast was hot, variety of options and tasty. The room temp was always warm (too warm), with A/C not able to be reduced less than 69 degrees which was prob more like 70-72 degrees. The shower water was little more than lukewarm. And the wait time for elevators was quite long. Sometimes between 8:30-10:30 am took 15 minutes with several elevators stopping with no room. One morning, we waited so long, we walked down 29 flights of stairs. Because it was close to Times Square, it was centrally located, but then on NYE, we had to go thru security twice along with several hundred others….in the rain. The NYPD were not organized to streamline this process for hotel guests who were not attending the ball drop. This was frustrating but at no fault of the hotel. Just relaying information.

Good location convenient to theaters and restaurants. The beds are very comfortable. Good breakfasts included. Our room was really small and barely big enough for two people. The room was too hot and the temperature couldn't be turned down any lower than 68 degrees. It was hard to sleep.

Room was very small. The elevators were chaotic as you had to pass several overly packed elevators to get down to the lobby. waiting on an elevator with room to get on wasted a lot of my time. We were never able to get the breakfast due to the crowd and lack of room to sit down in the breakfast area.
