Great hotel except fitness center
I had a great stay as is typical at Holiday Inns. They get all the basics right (clean, breakfast, nice beds, etc). But heads up to others who use fitness centers, this one is not functional. Both treadmills were out of service and haven't been serviced in years, the room is used for luggage storage so there's nowhere to stretch or anything. I booked this hotel in the middle of winter in New York hoping that I could get a run in on the treadmill and it kind of threw off my plans. I feel bad giving four stars because otherwise the hotel is great, I just wanted others to know because I didn't see any reviews mentioning the fitness center. Also note that this is a very busy and compact hotel in NYC, so the breakfast will probably have limited seating and a line to get food. That's just the nature of NYC. Staff was great however and hustling to keep it going. Staff was super nice And allowed me to check in a little bit early when I had an early flight. I always appreciate this so much! So long as I don't want to work out, I would definitely book this hotel again.

Terrible Experience – Worst Hotel Stay Ever Our stay at this hotel was absolutely awful, and I feel compelled to warn others. Here’s what we experienced: 1. Unclean Blankets: The blankets provided were dirty, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. 2. Freezing Room: The room was so cold, and the heater was extremely weak. Despite staying for five days, the temperature was never tolerable. This led to us getting a severe flu during our stay. 3. Freezing Lobby: On our last day, after checking out, we waited in the lobby for our flight. The lobby was also freezing, and despite repeatedly asking the staff to turn on the heater, nothing was done. We were left shivering in the cold. To add insult to injury, we were already sick with fever, and this environment only made it worse. The staff’s lack of action and care for their guests’ well-being was shocking. This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience we have ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially in cold weather.

Me, my boyfriend, and daughter all stayed at this property for three nights. Late birthday gift for my daughter to go see Wicked on broadway. The location was super convenient to everything. 13 minute walk to Gershwin theater as well as time square. Close walk to the subway, and we knocked out most of what was on our to do list. Location alone makes the price worth it especially for NYC. Be there and ready in line for breakfast, probably 5 minutes before starting time as the line gets backed up almost to the front door and seats get taken up fast. Our room was small, but clean, so who cares? Only one wall outlet in the room so that was pretty annoying. The desk in the room comes with outlets attached to it, but unfortunately ours was broken and didn’t work. Soap dispenser was broken, a cabinet door was broken, and we had some trouble with the AC unit. Genuinely for the location, price, and cleanliness of the room and hotel, none of the small inconveniences and broken furniture bothered us too much. Staff was also super friendly and helpful. Sals pizza and Kohoku-Ku ramen were our favorite restaurants just a quick 10 minute walk away.

The breakfast area was not large enough to accommodate all the guests. Breakfast was chaotic. Also, they need to be more clear about the parking situation. Parking is 3 blocks away.

Clean hotel. Rooms are small but clean. Good location. Close to restaurant row. 15-20 min walk to Rockefeller/ Radio City/ Times Square. Very close to the theater district. Nearest subway on 50th street. The only complaint I have is the breakfast situation. Very small area to eat and lots of people the entire time during breakfast hours. We went at 6:30 when breakfast opened and barely managed to find a table. A few minutes later the place was already very crowded. By the third day we decided that breakfast at the hotel was not worth it, so we went down the street to one of the diners on 9th.

Expect the long elevator waiting time and construction noise (during my visit). Everything else was decent. Breakfast is a challenge due to small area. But the staff were very responsive and helpful. 👍
