We haved stayed here twice. The property is well kept and clean and on this past stay we saw that they were taking advantage of the off season to complete upkeep/renovations. It is in a great location. The hotel is very forward thinking in green initiatives. The rooms are very small and the bathroom offers no privacy. There is no coffee in the room, but is available in the lobby. The bottled water option is a reusable bottle you can fill in a common area. Overall, it is a nice place to stay if you are going to be out and about enjoying Newport, rather than spending time in your room. .

Great Location- Okay comfort
The location is fabulous! we went for New Years Eve and it was great being so centrally located. The room is very small but we knew that ahead of time. The bed was really only comfortable to sleep but not to sit and watch TV. A better head board or a few more pillows would have been helpful.

We’ve stayed at Hammetts before and as always, the service was wonderful. It is centrally located to all of downtown Newport so we were able to walk everywhere. The room was quiet and clean, we will definitely stay again.

Very disappointed. The room is cold and unwelcoming. The bathroom is one of the oddest, non functional rooms I’ve ever seen. No where to store clothes or toiletries. The bed is very uncomfortable. Will not recommend staying here again

Clean and nice location. Nice aesthetic in lobby. Rooms were very small and basic and walls were very thin (could hear everything next door, was very loud late into the night). No restaurant/bar on site (but many places close by), coffee and tea in the morning downstairs in lobby but besides that not much going on in the hotel. Overall was rather underwhelmed.

Hammetts is always clean and is in a perfect location. However, my only reason for not giving 5 stars is the floors/walls seem to be very thin. Both nights we woke up to the floor above us banging loudly making it very difficult for us to get a good nights sleep. Overall the hotel is beautiful and very pleasant.
