Wildlife abounds with regular visits from wallabies, echidnas, bandicoots, a plethora of birds and other native fauna on this private site; in a wildlife sanctuary situated on a permaculture hamlet in sustainable Nimbin. Town is walking distance through a rainforest walking track (approx 1km).
Known for it's "alternative lifestyle" Nimbin boasts multiple communities living as close to nature with minimal impact. Our modern self-contained caravan is solar-powered with rainwater tanks in keeping with Nimbin's sustainable ethic. This is the epitome of a haven; tranquil yet close to the action in town.
The first weekend in May is the annual Mardi Grass "Protestival"; a protest against the unfair cannabis laws. September sees the annual Poetry Performance World Cup run across 3 days as well as the Nimbin Agricultural Show. The Nimbin Roots Festival in October boasts a host of Australian musical acts.
The Permaculture College at the end of the walk, is another beautiful institution worthy of exploring and has regular workshops and courses.
With pristine creeks, swimming is popular during summer as well as at the local community pool with its BBQ area leading into a children's playground and the famous Nimbin Skate Park.

The monthly markets are held in the old school ground every 4th and 5th Sunday of the month with and abundance of 2nd hand stalls filled with bargains and local musicians entertaining the masses.
So too, the weekly farmer's market every Wednesday, right next to the Post Office.
The Friday night Drum Circle is a popular haunt for aspiring drummers and the monthly Open Mic nights at the Bowlo are a regular for townies and tourists alike, with excellent food in the restaurant and a plethora of talent on the rise.
