Our single night here was great fromt desk guy was very attentive and helpful with all our needs. The room was nice and clean all the toiletries were available to us and all the linen were crisp.
As far as the hotel goes, it was very clean and comfortable. Perfect for just resting my head after attending a concert at the arena. I was a bit shocked to find an abandoned YMCA directly across the street, so that unsettled me a bit as a woman traveling alone (I did meet up with friends at the hotel, otherwise I wouldn’t really have felt safe leaving the hotel or walking from the parking lot at night by myself). The other issue was the hotel is ZERO sound-proofed. I heard every conversation in every room and hallway within ear shot of my room ALL NIGHT! I had a three hour ride home the next day, and really needed some sleep, but that was really impossible.

The room was extremely small. Very basic furniture. I guess for one night it was ok but I probably will not stay here again. We could hear visitors talking. The walls are very thin. If you can, pay the extra for a normal “hotel” feel. The room needs a bureau and long mirror.
Very nice staff and very clean rooms. Beds were comfortable. If you are looking for a nice clean room with very welcoming staff. This is an awesome choice. You aren’t going to be walking anywhere for dinner or drinks but for just a nice clean comfortable room, this is a good choice. About a 10 minute drive to either one of the casinos

Clean and actually functional for a very tiny room. I did woke up with a sore back.
Great option, if you are planning for a get away weekend or visiting the casino, You will find great restaurants in the area, around the hotel we can walk safely and there is plenty of free parking spaces.

This hotel is a basic as you can get. Beautiful building but it has been cheaply renovated. It was close to Mohegan sun (10min drive) so it served a purpose for us but the furniture in the bedroom is cheap, bare bones room and due to the lack of noise absorbing extras like rugs and curtains, you can hear all the other rooms and the corridors. The front desk staff aren’t very helpful, saying Mohegan sun was a 30min drive and also couldn’t provide me with a light bulb for one of the only two lamps that didn’t work in my room. The elevator stopped working. There is a vending machine on one of the floors but no real food served and nowhere close by to get breakfast. Honestly- if it’s cheap and you just need somewhere to rest your head then it was OK. Would I recommend to friends? Not really.

So….. it seemed like a great find, a “family room” for 500 bucks on a Saturday near Foxwoods. What it became was a realization that there is a reason I am a Marriott Ambassador and cannot trust independently owned hotels in Connecticut. Trust me I have stayed at beautiful independently owned hotels across the globe, just not CT. Here are my notes for those looking to stay here and reserve the elusive “family room”
- The family room is two 1 bed rooms connecting by a door. It’s terrible.
- The hotel has hardly any sound proofing. I take it is due to the fact it was an Elks lodge prior and no one gives a crap what noises come from an elk lodge.
- Check in was simple, but there was no explanation of anything. After further review, the owner, who was photographed in a press release was the one who checked us in. Well done sir, perhaps “two bottles of Poland springs water” is sufficient to get some people’s juices flowing, but I’d like a little foreplay before I get charged 550 for a night.
- Rooms were fine but and this is a BIG BUT. The beds were TERRIBLE. And forgive me if I am wrong, but the idea is to sleep at a hotel and I am pretty sure that is what I was paying for. The beds were THE HARDEST beds I have ever hardly slept on. Not even joking and I have an orthopedic extra firm bed at home!!!! If you like soft beds you should buy 40 pillows at Walmart and sleep on the street! You may get wet but you will save 300 bucks of the rack rate!!!!
The property is charming and eclectic. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. A microwave would be a great addition. The neighborhood is off putting but once inside we felt safe. The entire city of Norwich, at least the end we were on was more urban and ghetto than we were expecting.
Pretty nice hotel. Very clean. The lobby is very nice. Room was nice too - very simple. I would’ve liked to see more artwork. Staff was friendly.

Pro’s: Distance to Mohegan Sun and cleanliness.
Con’s: The room was a shoebox with the only windows being small and too high to look out of which made it more claustrophobic. Each room has a name and our’s was “ Cozy.” The hallways are dark and narrow. The elevator broke down while we were checking in downstairs. The whole place was kind of eerie.
First time staying here as my granddaughter's baby shower was here in the Agora Room. My room was so very perfect- from the comfort of the bed, the amenities in it and all that entails!
The front desk was wonderful. The only issue I had was with the room itself. First, there was no table or chair. I had to eat downstairs. I know the room is small, but a folding table and chair could be easily added. Not comfortable if you have to stay long term. Second, laugh if you want, but I am a person of short stature (I am 5'1"). I couldn't get into the bed easily. I had to climb and pull myself up. If you have a disability, are short, or a little person, this could be very uncomfortable. The beds are super high.
We stayed here since we were attending an event at Mohegan Sun. It was a quick 10 minute drive. We took a Uber to the arena and there was always a car available. The hotel was very clean and we felt safe during our stay. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. My only complaint would be that you can hear a lot of movement from the hallway and surrounding rooms, but it wasn’t unbearable. However, it was very quiet during the night. Overall, our stay was great and we would stay again in the future!
