A real disappointment
Our first room smelled horrendously of overpowering body odour - and the masking agent someone came to spray made no difference. The shower caulking was covered in black mould. We were moved to another room, which was cleaner but also smelled very bad. The cupboard doors were badly damaged. There are very few electrical outlets and only one of us could charge our phones at the bedside via the clock radio. The neighbourhood is a heartbreaking morass of the extremely marginalized and felt unsafe by early evening. Paying for parking via an app that required a precise time of departure was an unnecessary irritation and the confusion at the elevators due to new e-pads instead of buttons was inefficient. Sometimes new tech isn't better. This has always been our favourite Ottawa hotel but was terribly disappointing.

We had an issue with parking and got a bill from the Mall when we checked out. It cost us $98 for one night. I was ask by your folks it I wanted valet Parking or Park myself. Not mentioned was that I had to go to the Mall to pay for parking ahead of departing the lot. We were on there one day. Request you have you folks identify this when folks arrive to prevent the from occurring.

Always a wonderful stay
We have been making this trip and staying at the Westin every year for the last 18 years we absolutely love the location, the staff are fantastic, always helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The room is clean and spacious, we had issues with the parking this year due to system change with had NOTHING to do with the hotel, they even went above to try and assist with the new parking systems.

I didn’t like the odour when we walked in our room. It smelled like burned electric.. Other that the room was beautiful and it had a beautiful view. We love the view!
