Welcome to this private apartment on the second floor of a 2-story building. The space is approx. 900 square feet (83 m2). There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and Roku TV. Living room has a sofa and a Roku TV. Conveniently walkable location near supermarket, restaurants, etc. 15 miles from the George Washington Bridge. If you drive, you can reach NYC in 30 mins. Public transit (bus and train) takes about 1.5 hours to reach NYC. No parties, events, or smoking -- strictly enforced.
The apartment is above a store on the second floor of the building. You will need to walk up stairs to reach the apartment. There’s a private door at the street level so you won’t run into any other building occupants. The apartment has basic amenities and good for tourists, remote workers, business travelers, students, etc. We keep things simple and offer a competitive price.
You will have exclusive access to the entire apartment.
Mostly families living in the neighborhood. Lots of Latin American influences in the immediate area. Paterson is a very diverse city with lots of variety as far as restaurants, groceries, etc.

Newark airport (EWR) is 19 miles away from this apartment. La Guardia (LGA) is 28 miles away. JFK is 36 miles away. I recommend using taxi/Uber from the area airports.
You can reach Manhattan NYC using public transit by using a combination of buses and trains. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. If you drive to New York, it is only 15 miles away, so you can arrive in about 30 minutes.
Self check-in and check-out are available. There is a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. We will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival. The code will not be sent in advance.
The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with us. No one will be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night (after 11:00 pm) and no refunds will be issued if you have problems checking in after 11 pm. Early check-in is almost never possible and late check-out after 10:00 am is not permitted. We do not have any luggage storage at the building.
There is no parking included with this rental (the building does not have a driveway). You may park on the nearby streets, which is free, but you just need to pay attention to the street cleaning signs. The City of Paterson cleans each street one morning per week and those times are posted on signs. We cannot be responsible if you receive a parking ticket. Please ask if you have any questions about parking.
Please also note that this apartment is located in an older building. The apartment looks like the photos in the listing and we keep it clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place relatively close to New York City and area airports, this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.
We also just want to make clear that you are renting a private apartment and not a hotel room. There are many differences between apartment rentals and hotels, and some newer guests on Airbnb may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, we are a small operation and manage our listings to the best of our ability. We try hard to create a good experience for guests. We are including this disclaimer here because we have recently seen a rise in guests that seem to view our listing as very similar to a hotel, but in reality it is quite different. You will be given the choice between a refundable damage deposit (administrative fee for this option is $10) or a non-refundable damage waiver (the cost is $35). This process is required. It is not optional. You will not be given access to the listing unless your status is "approved" from Superhog. You will need a valid credit card in order to complete this process. We are fully disclosing this here so that a guest cannot claim after booking that this was not disclosed. We will not give refunds for reservations if you choose not to comply or you are not approved.

Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the bins outside the building, or at the curb, as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this).
If your unit has a thermostat and the thermostat is locked, do not tamper with it or try to break open the lock. Doing so is called vandalism and is highly inappropriate. We will withhold your security deposit if you do this and possible submit for more damages depending on the situation.
Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you've brought in, and discard all trash. Our cleaning fee is lower than most and it covers basic cleaning tasks like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!
If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time.
If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, we will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, we will charge fees in addition to this $300.
