Private 3-bed house convenient to NYC bus/train
Welcome to this private and spacious house in a quiet area. Approximately 1,500 square feet (140 m2) of space. This is an entire house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms plus a living room and fully functional kitchen. Private backyard also included. Convenient and quiet area close to major highways. Not far from Newark Airport (EWR) and New York City. Bus stop one block away. Good for families, tourists, traveling workers, interns, etc. No parties, events, or smoking -- strictly enforced.
This is a private single-family house located in a residential neighborhood where families typically live. The house is a good size — about 1,500 square feet of living space. The first floor has 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and a bathroom. The second floor has a bedroom with an attached, private bathroom. There is also a fenced-in backyard that is for exclusive use by Airbnb guests, not shared with anyone.
You will have access to the entire property except for the basement, which is for the owner’s storage.
I am available to help answer your questions before and during your stay. I want you to have the best possible experience so please don’t hesitate to be in touch. I request that we communicate via the Airbnb platform.
This is a quiet, residential neighborhood made up of mostly single-family homes. Downtown Perth Amboy and Downtown Woodbridge are both nearby. Shopping and restaurants also in the nearby area. Major highways are easily accessible and the NJ Transit Bus No. 48 is 1 block away from the house.
This house is located in an area close to the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, Route 1 and Route 9, etc. Driving to the house is quite easy. If you don't have a car, NJ Transit Bus No. 48 stops just 1 block away from the house. This bus can take you to Woodbridge Train Station (about a 5 minute bus ride). From there, you can catch a train to New York City. The travel time from this house to Penn Station New York is about 1 hour and 15 minutes in total.
Parking is not included in this rental. You will need to find a spot on the nearby streets. I cannot be responsible for your vehicle while it is parked on the streets.
Please note that heat is provided from October 1 to April 30. Air conditioning is provided from May 1 to September 30.

Self check-in and check-out are available. I have a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. I will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival.
The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with me. I may not be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night.
There is no driveway or off-street parking. Parking is not included with this rental. You will need to find parking on the street. It is free to park on the street and not too difficult to find a spot. You do not need any permits to park on the street, but you need to check the street cleaning signs. The town cleans the streets once per week and you can’t park on those streets during the street cleaning hours. I cannot be responsible for any parking violations you may receive.
Please also note that this is an older house. Some recent guests have arrived with higher expectations than what I can provide given the age of the house and the age of the neighborhood. The house looks like the photos in the listing and I keep it updated and clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced private house relatively close to New York City and Newark Airport EWR, this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.
I also just want to make clear that you are renting an Airbnb and not a hotel room. There are many differences between Airbnb and hotels, and some newer guests on Airbnb may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, I am an individual host and manage my listings to the best of my ability. I try hard to create a good experience for my guests. I am including this disclaimer here because I have recently seen a rise in guests that seem to view Airbnb as very similar to a hotel, but in reality it is quite different. Thank you in advance for understanding this.
Finally, I have a yacht parked not too far from this location. If you are coming to the New York area for tourism and you would like a private boat tour of New York Harbor, I would be happy to arrange it. The views of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, etc. are amazing out on the water. Please contact me for more details if you are interested in a tour. Thank you.
Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Superhog. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Superhog will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. You will receive the email and/or text about 30 minutes after you confirm your booking. Please complete the verification prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. You will be given the choice between a refundable security deposit (administrative fee for this option is $10) or a non-refundable damage waiver (the cost is $35). This process is required. It is not optional. You will not be given access to the listing unless your status is "approved" from Superhog. You will need a valid credit card in order to complete this process. We are fully disclosing this here so that a guest cannot claim after booking that this was not disclosed. We will not give refunds for reservations if you choose not to comply or you are not approved.
Separate from this, you need to leave a security deposit with us using your credit card. This is required. This deposit is to protect us against guests breaking our house rules (e.g. smoking, partying, checking out late, etc.). You will not be allowed to check in if you do not give us the credit card details for the deposit. This is being disclosed here so you cannot claim that you were not aware.
Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the bins outside the building, or at the curb, as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this).
If your unit has a thermostat and the thermostat is locked, do not tamper with it or try to break open the lock. Doing so is called vandalism and is highly inappropriate. We will withhold your security deposit if you do this and possible submit for more damages depending on the situation.
Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you've brought in, and discard all trash. Our cleaning fee is lower than most and it covers basic cleaning tasks like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!
If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time.
If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, we will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, we will charge fees in addition to this $300.
