Stayed for 9 nights in a King room with executive Lounge access over the New Years’ period. There was one absolutely brilliant person who needs mentioning: Veronica, the Breakfast manager. She looked after us so well, she was a true highlight of our entire trip to Perth.
Now for the bad parts: On arrival at 5pm only one our 2 booked rooms was ready (despite guaranteed check-in at 3pm). The room that was ready was not cleaned properly and we had to request another service. Their new policies are also an empty minibar and no amenities in the bathroom - all available at request.
The breakfast was not served in the exec lounge but rather in the main breakfast hall.
The staff really struggled with about 600 people at breakfast, apparently the busiest the hotel has ever been. Selection at breakfast was limited to western food despite a large proportion of the guests being from overseas. Although we had breakfast included in our rate you had to pay extra for “barista coffee” or “extras” like eggs Benedict or smashed avocado. The exec lounge featured snacks and drinks from 5-7 but it was jam-packed during that time. Received 2 letters under our door to compel us to urgently settle our bill before checkout because apparently they didn’t take out enough pre-authorisation at the start of our stay. Lastly the front desk gave out our family name to an anonymous caller late at night only asking if someone with my first name was staying there. In summary: Sub par experience.
