Nearly very good.
So nearly very good. The room was nice, modern and clean but cold. The in-room air conditioning / heating struggled to keep the room warm. The Christmas illuminations are lovely from the outside but not so much when they are keeping your room lit up all night, despite the best efforts of the curtains!

Excellent service from everyone I encountered - Lady on reception at check-in was polite, helpful and showed me to my room and explained the room functions etc Bar service for food and drinks in the evening was also excellent and I used the gym which was really good too.. Look forward to my next stay..

I brought my Mum to the Haycock for a birthday present, the service was fantastic we even had dinner which was lovely. The grounds are stunning and staff are extremely attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be returning. The only downside was breakfast, we were left waiting over 50 minutes for eggs royale and it was very quiet without a waiter/waitress to ask for the whereabouts, when we did find someone she apologised but they did loose our ticket with out breakfast order, luckily we weren’t rushing :)

A country gem
The highlight of the hotel is the food, it is excellent. The hotel is beautiful with excellent design. Some practical things were overlooked for instance it is impossible to sit in front of a mirror to use the hair dryer.

I loved the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast. Staff all friendly and helpful. Only criticism is the rear car park. Both myself and my son who arrived separately found lack of signs meaning unsure where to park and entrance to reception

Beautiful hotel in a picturesque location
We had an overnight stay at The Haycock on our way north. We chose this hotel as it was conveniently located just off the A1 in a small picturesque village. The hotel has been beautifully restored to a high standard and the attention to detail in the decor and service during our stay made for a very comfortable visit. Our meals were delicious and we loved that there were a variety of areas you could eat around the hotel including the beautiful gardens. We will definitely stay again.
