The beauty of the setting of this home is unmatchable. From the large open porch, view pristine white sandy beaches of Indian Pass with multiple species of sea birds, enjoy watching dolphins in the Gulf, and experience stars at night like you've never seen them. Even night owls will want to awaken for the spectacular sunrises peeking above the Western tip of beautiful St. Vincent's Island, a National Wildlife Refuge just a short kayak trip away. Once you've stayed at 'Starlight by the Sea' you'll never want to leave--it happens to everyone.

This home was designed by the owners for fun for the entire family, all ages and including the 4-legged members as well. Indian Pass is the dog friendliest beach you'll ever find. Like horses? We're horse friendly, too. Ride the 5000 acre Buffer Preserve or the 8000 acre Box R Ranch, or with permits and tail bags, ride the lovely beaches of Cape San Blas. There's also great fishing, boating, and golfing. After all this activity, relax swinging in the hammock, sunning on the open deck, or reading a good book in the shade of the veranda. Then stroll the beach for a magnificent sunset. It truly is magical.

WHAT'S NEW: We now have 2 ocean kayaks for our guests to use at no extra cost. We do not provide lifejackets so you will need to bring your own or rent them locally.

We love Starlight!
Every year we look forward to coming down to Starlight for our beach vacation, and we are never disappointed. Our 15-year-old dog loves coming here, and even though it's harder for her to get down to the beach, she makes sure her toes are in the sand as much as possible! Port St Joe is getting more options for restaurants-all were very good- so we did eat out more often this trip, but for meals in we had everything we needed. My favorite spot is either sitting on the chaise or lounging in the hammock-there's no way to choose just one! Joy, thank you again for sharing your home! Can't wait to get back again!!

Family Celebration
This was a perfect house for our family’s celebration- 30 year old and 60 year old birthdays and our 6 mont old grandson’s first trip to a beach. The house was perfect for 6 adults, an infant and 3 dogs. Fun was had by all! We cooked in most nights, used the kayaks to head to the Sanctuary that is close by and spent a lot of time on the deck! Joy answered my questions in a timely manner and was very easy to work with! We will be back next year!

Amazing deck and short walk to the beach
We really enjoyed our stay at Starlight by the Sea. The large deck on the back of the house is really nice. It is partially covered and partially open so you can be in the shade or sun. Even if weather isn't great to be on the beach, you can still see and hear the ocean from the deck. The short walk to the beach on the private boardwalk was great. There's a shower with hot water at the ground level of the boardwalk and also access to water on the deck. Overall, a great place for a relaxing beach vacation. The only negative comment is with regard to the interior which is dated and in need of a thorough deep cleaning.

The perfect Indian Pass gem
Everything about our stay was great, we’re already talking about booking again. The house: The house was clean, cool, and larger than expected. You can’t ask for a more perfect deck overlooking the beach and just a short walk down your private boardwalk to the water. The host: Joy was the best! She was prompt, detailed and so thoughtful. I never once waited or wondered, she was in constant contact with any questions we had, even answering questions I didn’t know I might have. The location: Indian Pass is such a hidden gem on the Forgotten Coast but this house may have the best view in all of Indian Pass! It truly looks like you’re outside the US, we spent the majority of our trip on the porch taking it in. Bonus: there’s dog friendly and then there’s dog welcomed and loved! This house definitely welcomed our fur baby and made that part of the trip even easier. Thanks for everything and we can’t wait to come back!

So accommodating!
It’s difficult to find a place to stay that houses both family and pups while trusting it is well-maintained, but this house exceeded expectations. The porch has the best view, and dinners beside the gulf made the best memories! Definitely would love to come back.

The house was great. Everything was awesome and we had a great time. The porch was the biggest draw. Sunrise to sunset the porch was the place to be if you weren’t on the beach. The only draw back for us was the path from the end of our walk to the beach. Tall grass and sand byes. Couple a couple of steps but stepping stones or just cleared a little would have made a world of difference. Everything else was exactly what you would want in a beach vacay. Thank you.

Starlight by the Sea has been a part of my Spring renewal for over 10 years. Each morning starts sipping coffee with my pup Seva on my lap as we watch the rim of the sun touch the horizon creating a masterpiece of red, orange and yellow colors reflecting on the water…later slow walks on the beach, kayaking to the island or giggling on the deck with friends cultivate a deep inner peace 💜

Peaceful Getaway
We loved our stay at Starlight by the Sea. Joy was a wonderful host. We loved having access to 2 kayaks! We could kayak right to St Vincent Island and didn't have to bother with transporting them. If you need to rent additional kayaks, we recommend Fighting Conch, they were very helpful and offered free delivery and pickup. We also loved the large porch, the view was amazing. There were plenty of places to sit and gather around together with friends and family. If you're looking for something low-key, relaxing and uncrowded, book Starlight by the Sea. You practically have the whole beach to yourself.

Wonderful stay at Starlight by the Sea
We had a wonderful vacation at Starlight by the Sea. As others mention in the reviews, the deck area is awesome. You see magnificent views of the water and St. Vincent's island while relaxing on the comfortable outdoor furniture.We enjoyed watching dolphins and various birds from the deck and laying in the hammock. The house is charming with interesting art work and ceramics. Also, the house is well organized with plenty of space to store your food, luggage etc. We enjoyed the electric fireplaces which you can use to add ambience to the room without adding any heat. The area is beautiful and I highly recommend going up to the state park. They have beautiful unspoiled beaches up there and the water is crystal clear. It was a great vacation and thank you Joy for sharing your lovely home with us.
