Lemon Scented Bayview

A very comfortable three-bedroom seaside retreat surrounded by well-established lemon scented gums and olive trees with extensive views over the Bay. This tranquil location is only a 10 min short walk or 2 min drive to the foreshore and town centre. Escape the stress of inner city living and enjoy a peaceful stay with a touch of country air and sea breezes.

The house comprises three bedrooms with the living room, dining, and kitchen all connected in an open plan layout. The kitchen features ample generous sized cupboards with lime green benchtops, fully equipped with all mod cons, and a double door full height pantry.

The north facing spacious living-dining room captures the warmth of the winter sun. A turbo wood heater provides ambience and keeps the warmth throughout the house on those cooler days and nights. The front veranda showcases the spectacular views of the flora and fauna reserve, the Bay, the You Yangs and beyond. At the back of the house, from the dining room sliding doors, there is a brick paved courtyard, extra seating area and barbeque all leading to a sizeable lawn and garden area.

A perfect place to kick off your shoes ,relax and enjoy all the Bellarine has to offer.

Relaxation in a well equipped haven
It was truly a relaxing stay.The retro decor gave the home a warm and nostalgic charm that immediately set the tone for a laid-back stay. Every detail seemed thoughtfully curated, making it easy to unwind and feel at ease.The house was also impressively well-equipped, far exceeding expectations. From a fully stocked kitchen with all the pans and even party plates to a mini medical kit in the bathroom . it was clear that the hosts had anticipated every possible need. It felt like staying in a home rather than just a holiday rental, which added to the comfort.Whether you’re looking for a peaceful getaway or a base to explore the area, this house offers the perfect mix of relaxation and convenience. We’ll definitely be back!

Had the BEST week - felt like home!
From the moment I pulled up I felt a sense of warmth and comfort. There are two lemon scented gum trees at the front and they look spectacular. They smell divine, especially first thing in the morning and they attract wildlife. I spent ages watching various bird life on the lawn and in the trees. When I walked through the house, it smelt lovely and I couldn't believe how clean it was!!!! It's not a modern house. It's retro, with lime green kitchen bench tops and lime green contact lining the kitchen cupboards. The bathroom is like stepping back in time, but I can't stress how clean it is. Clean shower screen; no mould. The living area has loop, beige carpet - it's worn and it's identical in style, color and 'worn-ness' as in the house I lived for 18 years. But one of the things that surprised me the most is how well the house is equipped and stocked. I'd brought my own sharp knife, tongs, salt, pepper, olive oil, tea, coffee because the place I stayed at last Jan had none of these. This house has all this plus more!! I spent a year overseas in 2018 staying in StayZ, Air BnB etc houses. NONE` of the places I've experiences is as well equipped as this one was. And plants. The house has many indoor (and outdoor) plants, all thriving and very well maintained. The decorations are tasteful and interesting. Outside, the backyard is tranquil, large and lovely. Our absolute favourite part was sitting having a coffee in the morning, or a pre-dinner drink in the evening, on the verandah, watching and listening to the wildlife, watching the boats passing by in the distance, and basically relaxing and being grateful for the opportunity to experience such tranquility. Thank you to Sam and Evie who were excellent to deal with (and helped me out immediately when I sadly locked myself out!!). I can't recommend this house enough.

We enjoyed the location, beautiful view out across the You Yangs, extremely quiet and peaceful. We appreciated that the kitchen was extremely well equipped with every piece of equipment you could need - and then some ! Great for entertaining over Christmas. Air Con throughout and nice touches like complimentary wine and chocolates were appreciated. Would definitely stay again. Thankyou !!

Perfection plus!
Website pics and description does not do this place justice. I have never stayed at a house with so much charm. The house has ALL the basics you need, plus the things you wouldn’t have thought of, plus so many personal touches and treats from the owners. The owners go over and above to ensure they deliver hospitality of the highest level. The location is great, Portarlington is a wonderful place to visit, our family had the best week staying here.

Beyond our expectations!
Booked to catch up with family for Xmas Day who lives in the area. The property presents very well, supprised by the sea views (didn't expect one, it is lovely). The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials, bed & bath linen supplied, beds comfortable. Quirky decor suits the property and makes it feel homely - Highligh recommend

Quiet and peaceful stay
The house offered everything we needed for our holiday! We had great time, playing tennis at local tennis courts near beach (Portalington tennis club, and Indented Head), walking on beach, and cooking fresh fish from Jenkins & Sons (a local fish shop, walking distance from the house) every day. Thank you for unexpected Christmas presents! We felt welcomed.

Family fun in Portarlington
Our family really enjoyed our stay. The property had all the mod cons you need and felt very cosy, despite a windy, wintry weekend. Nice warm fire, coupled with Netflix on the big smart tv saw time fly by over a long weekend.

Unexpected gem
