Huge 1 bedroom penthouse apartment, located on a quieter street, very close to famous Wenceslas Square in New Town (1 of the 2 famous squares in Prague). Walking distance to everything. The apartment felt like a small house in the sky. Romantic VERY small newer elevator will take you to this top floor residence on the 5th floor. There was JUST enough room for 2 standard size persons or 1 person with luggage. Ignore the ground floor courtyard and lobby which look a bit shabby, since you only pass through these on the way to this very modern apartment. It is VERY quiet for sleeping. From the kitchen windows, it feels as if you could almost reach out and touch the dome of the Prague National Museum. All manner of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. 2 small supermarkets located about 1 block away (1 of them down in the Subway (or Metro) beneath MacDonalds Restaurant). Very safe area later at night as there is always lots of persons strolling along the very wide Vaclavski Boulevard which is only 1/2 block from the apartment.
Very clean upon arrival, but the apartment could use some minor maintenance such as adjusting doors to both the laundry room and refrigerator so that it is easier to open and close both without having to lift them up. As well, one of the electrically controlled windows had a broken mechanism. We could not turn on the 4 wall sconces in the living room and dining areas, because there seemed to be something wrong with the dimmer which controlled these. There were also a couple of burned-out light bulbs which needed replacing. Even so, we would still highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Prague. Terry and John.
