My husband and I paid in advance for a full week here, but when we arrived we were told our reservation had been cancelled. The manager said that mistakes had been made, and to make up for that we would get a full refund, and a free future stay. The week (where we ended up at another place) is now over, but neither of these things have happened. This was a trip to celebrate my 75th birthday later this month, and the unexpected and unwelcome change of plans, as well as the manager’s unkindness, put the trip under a black cloud.

We have stayed at South Fleetwood many times, but on our most recent trip, our reservations (paid in full) were cancelled! And we were told there was no other unit on the property, so we were left to fend for ourselves. Then we were told there was availability on Tuesday. We moved into a unit that day, but then were asked to leave the next afternoon because actually someone else had rented that unit. Again, we were on our own. We were promised a free future trip to make up for these mistakes, but then the manager changed her mind. My husband and I will never stay here again, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Everything was fantastic - except having to stop first at another site to pick up the key. It would be much easier to have a lock box. It took a while to get a taxi from the key pick up location, because the shuttle only shuttles guests from airport to key pick up site.

Wonderful, but not for those looking for luxury
Amazing location and wonderfully comfortable property. Think of this as an house rental and you will be happy. Cleaning lady was exceptionally helpful and kind. Lots of room and perfect for sharing with our young adult, just post university, sons, who could walk to the nightlife. We all walked everywhere and loved the convenience. This is not an elegant or prestigious place, but the epitome of casual comfort.

This property was disgusting. Roaches everywhere, ants everywhere, bed was dirty and had roaches under it. There was roaches in the bathroom. It was a roach party. We were told we were getting a new room- that didn't happen. I tried speaking with manager "Debbie"- conversation got disconnected and she rudely ignore my calls. She's also not willing to do partial refund after what we had to experience. We were also told that we could use a gym, which is non existent, website speaks of a "spa" that was also not provided. By far the worse stay I've had in years. I don't know why it says "excellent" on the reviews. It's a horrible place. We were the only ones staying there , now we know why.

Perfect proximity to beach. Excursions picked up at the beach by us. Great space with our two adult children with us. Walked to restaurants and shops. 2 minute walk to the best beach in the world. Landscaping was beautiful. Outdoor kitchen was awesome.

We stayed here before, when it was privately owned. What you don't find out until after you book is that check in/out is at another hotel. You have to take a separate taxi each way, so don't bother with the round-trip transfers from the airport. If you do get that option, don't expect them to pick you up for check out. Tinys taxi's phone went right to voice mail and the box was full. We had to hire another taxi service. Still trying to get a refund from Orbitz.

Property is very dated. The water would wildly fluctuate between hot and cold during your shower. Time to put some money into modernizing this. Overall, a decent place to stay for the money but would pick a nicer place the next time.

i loved my stay at south fleet i just wish we were able to get fresh towels while we were there and the washer and dryer is a little pricey to be washing and drying our towels but other then that i highly recommend

Checking in and check out are a hassle, when I realized it and tried to cancel, I was going to be fully charge. Be careful!!! Impossible to return the keys, office was closed and no one picks up the EMERGENCY number.

No check in at resort. I never received info on where and how to check in so when I contacted Expedia agent ace cooper he required me to cancel my 5nites while he searched for an alternative. Only good option he found was at Lodging’s which is at the airport and way overpriced. Ace indicated I had to cancel south Fleetwood to rebook and promised a refund which is now in question. Bait and switch? No one available all week at South Fleetwood and I never received instructions to check in downtown and was refused option of moving s Fleetwood Tuesday or Wednesday.

Excellent property in great location, about a 2 minute walk from beach. Comfortable beds and pillows. On-property caretaker Alex is wonderful. It felt quiet and secure. Parts of house can run hot because of layout and A/C set-up, but I think that's pretty typical. I'd be happy to stay here again! A few details that might be helpful to others: The umbrella/chair situation is a little confusing. They provide them in the rooms (good quality) for you to carry to the beach. I thought from the description that there were chairs and umbrellas at the beach-- there are a few lounge chairs reserved that are permanently located at the back of the beach, but you would have to rent the umbrella. This is all fine, but was confusing to sort out at first. The check-in/out requires going by their office and physically picking up/returning the key-- just be aware that the office is near the airport, so it does require going across town from the beach, and you'll need to plan for that extra travel time back and forth on check-out day if you're trying to stay later in the day on the beach. If you plan to cook, my experience was that the kitchen was well-equipped, but anything at all you need to cook with-- salt, oil, anything-- you'll need to buy. There wasn't anything already stocked.
