Trash containers overflowing, poor service quality, food not great. Check in took almost 90 minutes, and we missed lunch by 10 minutes. Our first room had a leak, water everywhere in front of the door. They asked us if we wanted to change room or keep this one. We said we wanted a room with no leak, it was apparently the last one available. So we were moved to a smaller room, with no apology or any kind of compensation. We texted our concierge to ask what it would cost to be upgraded to the Paradisus. He asked us to “come over” to the lobby. He was with other customers and he asked us to wait. After 45 minutes he told us to see with the reception (which he could have said at the beginning). The receptionist gave us a price that was outrageous considering how much we already paid for the week, plus the upgrade to circle, and the first impression we had that was really not great. After another unhappy customer told us to directly talk to the manager, we follower their advice and we got a “ok” discount we accepted. Our stay at paradisus was great, but my vision of Melia has now really changed. We stayed at the paradisus in Playa del Carmen last year, for 2/3 of the price, with way better quality of service

No first time with Melia but Melia beach provided wonderful experience. Our concierge Louis and Carlos were top notch. What a great guys and amazing customer service. Responsive, helpful and just amazing Staff. All Melia customer service nice but these two stand out out of the crowd!

Bait and switch! We were 5 peon our group. They listed the wrong people for a 3 day stay and for a 4 day stay. Then charged additional days stay for the the mistake they made. Scam alert!!!

Melia wellness adults-only was a very nice resort. All the buffets were excellent with a large assortment of great quality food. Staff were friendly. The pool is very nice and huge! A downside i found was there are a bunch of green still water ponds in the area leading from reception to the rooms that smell really bad and tons of mosquitos.

Beautiful property, food was good, pools were great, but the housekeeping was inconsistent (to say the least). The prices in the convenience shop were outrageous and frankly disgusting, so make sure you bring EVERYTHING you will need or be prepared to pay insane prices for basic staple items.

Beach yoga was absolutely lovely, aqua aerobics was very fun, the staff were very nice and helpful, the room door malfunctioned and we were locked out of our room for a while, and the hot water stopped working for the last couple days.

Beautiful resort. Good eating options. Drainage of the property grounds sucks. Need to deal with almost knee high puddles. We talked to other people from other resorts and they didn’t have this problem.

The property was well manicured and very big we like to walk so there was no complaints. There were golf carts for rides all the time never had an issue getting around when we didnt want to walk. There are only 3 restaurants I enjoyed all 3. The buffets for breakfast, lunch, dinner were great!! Drinks were okay. We were in the Level the snacks in the Level space could of had more variety. The roof top was nice but even at night no upbeat music which was disappointing. The spa was good we got massages that were great. The worst part about the resort was the pools were freezing cold so cold that we couldnt go in at all. Also way too quiet no pool music only 1 hr a day at 3pm. When the music came on everyone was do happy i dont understand no misic at all my suggestion would be music after 12pm at the pool bar so the other area is quiet. Everyone doesnt want silence all day by the pool. Everyone i spoke to felt the same way listen to your patrons the pool needs music upbeat and more pool activities like games.

I came here for my solo 30th and I’ll try to be as honest as possible. I came for 4 nights arriving on Monday afternoon from Toronto and leaving the Friday. Melia Punta cana was a drop dead resort. You immediately feel this as soon as you walk in. The restaurant options are a bit limited but i really enjoyed muoi. The service itself is where it varied. Check in took nearly an hour and i had to escalate several issues before it was resolved. The key card stopped working at least 4 times and i had to walk back to the concierge for a new one. Ultimately i had a good time; Keren, oscarlynn, claudio, Ruth and Jenika were so kind and went out of their way to ensure i had a good time. A huge shout out to bartenders rosa, rodolpo and polo. I enjoyed having not to walk often with the use of the buggy. The swim up bar was EVERYTHING. Great picture locations everywhere. Overall i had a fantastic time and perhaps the service could be better but nevertheless a good time

Excellent staff, quality of food and beverages. Had a wonderful time with family celebrating my father’s 70th. He was even serenaded by the staff on one of the evenings. Adolfo, Wander, Maribel and Ramon deserve a particular mention as they were so attentive and entertaining. We will most certainly be back.
