Summary:
The Casita is a cozy one bedroom upstairs apartment. The decor is an eclectic southwestern style and is set up perfectly for cozy stays!
The bedroom has a super comfy memory foam queen size bed. The living room also has a small futon sofa. It works well for the kiddos but it’s not a great size for adults. If you have a larger group and need more space please consider booking the "carriage house" or the “Second story” Both are right next door and are beautiful, updated historic homes!
The Space:
The Casita includes a full kitchen, with coffee! A full bath with tub, smart TV for streaming all your shows, smoking fast fiber optic WiFi and a futon for a little more sleeping room. There is also a beautiful grassy, shaded yard. It is a common space for our Airbnb guests. It is. Shared with the “Carriage House” and the “Second Story” we have plenty of off street parking and can typically accommodate even trucks with trailers. (Please check with us if you have a larger rig)
Guest Access:
There is off street parking directly in front of the listing. It is shared with our other listings on the same property.
The Neighborhood:
We’re right off 2nd Street which is the main drag through Raton. The closest eating options include the Icehouse (bbq with a patio and bar), Bruno’s (pizza, wings, salad), Enchanted Grounds (coffee and sandwiches), La Cocina (Mexican) and the local brewery Colfax Ale Cellar
Getting Around:
Raton is a small town so walking is safe but parking is easy and plentiful so driving is fine too
Other Things to Note:
The stairs are rather steep, please be careful! F
Dumpsters are behind house in alley if they’re needed and they are bear proof so you have to squeeze the handle awkwardly and then hoist the heavy lid… sorry 😁
Feel free to wander around the beautiful yards! The Casita does have its own little patio and chairs just at at the bottom of the stairs.
Interaction with Guests:
One of the hosts is almost always available to answer questions via Airbnb message or text!
We live 35 miles east of town on a ranch. We are not typically around the air bnbs when guests arrive (I wish we were!) but please feel free to reach out with any questions.
