Private lakefront vacation home with a private dock on Smith Mountain Lake! The water views are wonderful from both levels of this thoughtfully decorated vacation home.
This luxurious private home has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The furnishings and decorator details make this a place you will enjoy. Special touches at this home include aarge kitchen on the main level plus a kitchenette downstairs. There are also living rooms on both levels
A rare screened in porch on the private dock is the ultimate escape! You will want to spend time listening to the water, sunning, swimming, floating, fish, and more. Bring your own boat or rent a boat to explore the lake. The average water depth is 7 feet at the left floater and 18 feet at the right floater.
This ideal spot is a few short minutes from the Smith Mountain Lake State Park, waterfront marinas, gas docks and restaurants.

A perfect spot on Smith Mountain Lake
Some things I love about this property: 1.) The back yard is and water around the dock is shaded. In summer, this is wonderful. I've been twice in August and almost never felt truly hot. 2.) The house is very spacious. There is a LOT of room in this house. A large group feels very comfortable here. 3.) The location is wonderful. You're not far from shopping. The house is on the water (and on the ice cream boat route), but it's in a little inlet off the main drag, so you're not getting buzzed by wake all the time. 4.) We brought our own kayaks, but the house also comes with a couple of kayaks. It's a perfect place for low key paddling. 5.) In general, the house is modern and fairly well kept. While it could use a couple minor updates, overall you have modern kitchens and bathrooms and updated décor. 6.) Comfortable beds 7.) Love the decks on the top floor A couple of complaints: 1.) The main floating dock, the crown jewel of the property, was not accessible during our stay. The floating dock is ideal for kayaking, boating, and swimming. If you're into those things, verify the dock has been repair or replaced before you come. 2.) There was no interim cleaning during our two week stay, nor basic cleaning supplies provided for cleaning the bathrooms. Otherwise, however, I have nothing but compliments for this wonderful location. Highly recommended.

Pros and cons
House large and gorgeous from the outside. All beds comfortable. Inside adequately maintained. The owner appears to have abandoned the desire to maintain the outside including the deck, all steps going to the dock and the docks themselves.

Lovely stay on the lake
We had a getaway for a few days to Smith Mountain Lake, with our two teenage kids who each brought a friend. This house was perfect. Conveniently located near the Bridgewater Marina where we rented boats and tubes, the house had a great dock and outdoor setup. We loved the hot tub and enjoyed the kayaks, the grill and the pool table. The house was spacious and comfortable, well appointed with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The hospitality of the property service was impeccable and they made us feel very welcome and at home. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back again.

Great house - steep walks
This was a beautiful house will a great view of one of the tributaries off Smith Mountain Lake. The only real note I would have for anyone wanting to rent this house is that the walk from the parking to the house and the walk from the house to the boat house and sitting areas has steep grades that made it very challenging for older folks to feel comfortable walking. In boating around the lake, this appears to be like many of the houses in area. Thank you for the stay - overall we had a great time!

Thanksgiving Family Gathering
Overall experience was great. My brother recently built a house on the lake so I rented this one so that my wife, two adult children and our aging parents could stay here and celebrate the holiday with my brother and his family. The house was clean, well stocked and came as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and rated the property five stars. For those renting this property I would add these tips. 1. If arriving at night, the property and area is extremely dark and the house sits below your line of sight. When you get to the address it can be difficult to determine where the house and driveway are assuming there are no lights on in the house. 2. The lower driveway portion that approaches the house is steep. My parents are 83 and 85 and one has a knee problem. In order to avoid them walking down the stairs from the upper driveway, I parked by the garage. For most days this worked fine. On the last day when we were leaving there was a slight rain. The rain made the driveway slippery and prevented us from being able to pull out. We were stuck for 30 minutes and about to call a tow truck when I decided to make a k turn and try to back out. Worked like a charm. If raining you may want to park on upper driveway and walk down the stairs.

Wonderful house on Smith Mountain Lake
Our family of five had a wonderful stay on Smith Mountain Lake at this property. We would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area. Things we loved: 1.) Large spacious house with five bedrooms 2.) Two large eating areas and comfortable living room and den 3.) Spectacular views of the lake 4.) Lots of shade at the dock and swimming area helped keep us cool on hotter days 5.) Overall good communication from hosts 6.) Comfortable beds 7.) Property came with two adult kayaks and paddles as well as some floatable noodles and older life jackets 8.) Location - not far from shopping and restaurants 9.) Lots of great decks and outdoor seating My only complaint is that we had an extended stay and the hosts provided weekly housekeeping which didn't involve cleaning bathrooms until specifically we requested this. Providing cleaning products would also have been perfectly fine alternative for us. This is a small note among many things we loved. Overall our stay was excellent and we loved the property and would be delighted to return.

Amazing Waterfront Property
Our family so enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home on Smithfield Lake. Lower level of the home was just perfect for the kids. Kitchen was well stocked and management was very responsive to requests.

Dream Lake House
We have been coming to SML for 15+ years and this is one of the best rental homes we have found. The kitchen is fully loaded, plenty of room for multiple families, hot tub and fire pit with great lake views... The list goes on. Perfect stay at the lake.

This is a lovely home with so many great spaces for gathering with friends and family, in the kitchen/den area, on the deck, in the game room, on the dock, etc. The home has a VERY STEEP driveway and a VERY STEEP walk down to the water. Best for healthy visitors.

Perfect long weekend retreat
This house had it all. The 2 kitchens had it all to accommodate anything you needed to make a stunning meal. The game room had pool, ping pong, and darts. This was a great property with private spacing throughout the house that everyone felt they were at a retreat when they wanted and party together also on other times.. i rented the property to create some family memories for my 81 year old mother. She loved the house and truly wonderful memories were shared. I plan to rent again.

Pleasant Family Vacation
A nice, quiet neighborhood in a cul-de-sac with a well appointed house. Cell service and cable is reasonably good and views and its multiple docks make it an attractive vacation spot. We were pleased with our choice and the family was happy with the location and surroundings. We would gladly return.

Beautiful house
We absolutely loved the house but we couldn’t use the dock. I called the very first day because there were cleats missing from the dock and there was no way for us to tie up. There was a lift but generally owners don’t like you using their lift so we didn’t want to go in there plus it was very awkward to get in the boar from the lift area. There were two floaters but they were way too short for our 23 foot boat. We used the community dock to solve our problem up until the last night when we were threatened by the “community president” that she was going to have our boat and cars towed from the owner and guest beach and parking area. Luckily a nice neighbor let us tie up at his house fir the last night. I will definitely go back if the dock problem is solved. House is awesome!
