I really liked the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff and clean crisp linen and lovely food. The only thing i didn't like was how thin the walls were we had a very loud person next to us which was annoying

Liked everything except the floor boards of the nearby roomd were very creeky. Needs to change that.

Good hotel with superb view of River Wye

Pros: It had a bit of character, with comfortable rooms and within easy walk (5 mins) of the town centre
Cons: Breakfast was ok but the evening menu did not tempt us to eat in the hotel restaurant
Location: We visited Symond's Yat (15 mins) and Hay-on-Wye (50 mins), which were both interesting in contrasting ways
Enjoyed a weekend away with 'old' school friends. It was a great base from which to explore this part of the Welsh Borders. The reception staff gave very good advice on places to visit and how to get to them

Great place to have a wedding reception!

Had a good night with my family. The family room was a good size. There was a wide range for breakfast. The price of the room was very reasonable.

Good for a 2 night break

The room was comfortable and clean but the veranda had cobwebs on it and cigarette stubs It wasn't a particular problem on this visit as it wasn't really warm enough to want to sit out. The food was good but the service was rather slow, we felt due to poor organisation and/or supervision. Each time we went into the restaurant there were several tables full of used crockery and we found this a little off putting. The staff were friendly and helpful.
