HUGE mother in law apartment in PRIME location

Enjoy our entire newly remodeled basement to yourselves with a private entrance in the back of the house. It is a spacious two bedroom one bathroom space, with a large living area, work area, laundry room/mudroom, and above ground windows. There is space for two cars to park on the side of the garage. Please note there is NO KITCHEN (sink/stove/oven) but a full sized fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, Primo water dispenser and coffee pot are available for use. We are a family with two children that live upstairs - it is possible that you might hear noise from our kids although we try to stay quiet. Also, please note if you are a longer term guest, there is only one laundry unit for the entire home and the hosts will need to use it at a coordinated time that works best for guests.

Nice Apartment, Dishonest Host
This VRBO is very nice and spacious. They say it’s a mother in law apartment however it lacks a kitchen. We were willing to make that work. Then after we checked in and unloaded our belongings the host approached me and told us there hot water heater was broken. He then told us it had been broken for a week and they weren’t sure when it would be fixed. We spoke with both hosts and they agreed that if we decided to stay they would give us a discount, if we chose to leave then they would give us a full refund. Mind you we had only been there for a max of 2 hours trying to decide what we wanted to do. We decided that not having hot water was not an option for us so the host said they would refund us. Upon leaving the host only issued a partial refund stating the VRBO would not let them give us a full refund and that we would have to contact VRBO. At this point the host stopped responding to any of our texts or calls. Once we contacted VRBO they informed us that the host selected a partial refund and that VRBO would fix it. After receiving our refund we were notified that the host listed the reason for cancellation was because of minimum age requirement had not been met which was a lie. I then had to contact VRBO again to make sure that our status as guests wouldn’t be negatively affected by this lie.

Like staying in your brother-in-law's basement
We picked this Verbo because we had a longer stay, and this listing was on the less expensive side. So it's fair that lodgings were a bit bare bones, but there were a few things that were a bit unexpected, and I wanted to post this review just so people know what they are going to get: The pros: -Clean -Spacious -Great neighborhood -Cheap Cons: -There is no temperature control. You are at the whim of the owner upstairs. We were either huddling under blankets or sweating. - The owner's family included 2 small and very active small children and you *will* hear them stomping around at all hours. - Some of the outlets don't work and neither do some of the smaller items (lamps, etc) -Bring your own hooks, because despite there being lodging for 6, there is ONE towel rack in the bathroom, with enough room for TWO towels. Plenty of wall space for more though HINT HINT! That said, many towels were provided. -The king size mattress was VERY lumpy and obviously very old. The sheets were thin and cheap. We had to make that bed at least 30 times during our stay; every time you sat on the bed, the other side of the sheet just slipped right off. And they were terribly hot. Did I mention we had no temp controls? This place could be pretty sweet if the owners spent just a few bucks to make a few changes, but as is, it was a bit too rough for me.

Nice basement apartment in a classy neighborhood
This was a great place to stay while my kids were participating in a hockey camp. We had plenty of space, comfortable beds, full size fridge, washer and dryer, and great air conditioning that kept us cool while it was so hot outside. The hosts are easy to communicate with and helpful. There isn’t a kitchen sink, stove/oven, but there is a microwave and a really nice large toaster oven that cooked really well. Overall, it was a great place!

Great location, lots of room
This is a large basement apartment with space to spread out. It was easy to get to from the SLC airport, and easy to check in and out. Owner communication was very good. The apartment was very clean and much of it has been recently renovated; however there are still some renovations that look like they haven't yet been completed - for example, holes in the drywall for electrical boxes. There is no real kitchen, just a fridge, microwave and toaster oven, and no kitchen supplies to speak of - only paper plates and bowls. The dining room table and chairs are also the folding plastic type; functional, but not at all fancy. The living room is large and has a comfortable sectional sofa and large TV with Netflix. Overall it worked fine for our family of 5 for a short overnight stay.

Clean, great location, awesome communication!
Had a great stay at this BnB. VRBO for some reason didn’t have any information on how to enter the property so I messaged the owner and they responded to me instantly so it was no problem. Great location to freeway, restaurants, ski slopes. We didn’t need to cook or anything so this location worked great for us since they only had a full size fridge and microwave. Very clean, updated bathroom, lots of space and parking. We would stay here again.
