Hotel rooms were extremely small, smelled very old, no breakfast or area around it to eat. Going outside the door the first thing you smell is weed and urine. Very very disappointed. Canceled rest of syay and left.

Generous 4 star stay. Hotel is nice enough inside, but very dated, carpet in hallways was rolling up, bathroom decor was peeling away and dated. Bed was comfy and amenities in room (fridge/AC/tv ect) were good. Area around the hotel is obviously out of their control, but the need for them to lock the entry door says it all. Much like all of San Fran there is a large homeless population around the area and at night several loiter at the building opposite. They caused us no issues but is worth considering. Good location next to trams and subway station however. Would I stay again? Yes. Would I choose somewhere else first? Yes.

My room didnt have towels or toliet paper in it. I couldnt use the TV. The shower head broke off, and when I tried the shower it flooded the bathroom. Never again.

The Pickwick is extremely run down and outdated. The common areas and rooms have seen better days, and everything feels like it’s in desperate need of repair or replacement. My room was technically clean, but full of “character” in all the wrong ways: a cracked sink, a showerhead shedding broken plastic, and fixtures with the charm of a yard sale. To really drive it home, the room still had an iHome with a 30-pin iPhone connector, which was discontinued in 2012. If you’re traveling with a first-gen iPod, you’re in luck. I stayed here for a work conference that inflated the nightly rate to $373, an almost criminal price for what’s essentially a museum exhibit on early 2000s hotel decor. The average is under $200, which still feels steep unless you have a nostalgic itch for cracked tiles and dusty carpet. The hotel itself felt fairly safe, but the block around it was rough. Let’s just say “street activity” was happening in broad daylight, and I don’t mean food trucks. Would not stay here again.

We loved that it was so close to everything. Transportation was a plus. Love the uniqueness of the hotel. It was an old buildings but kept up very well. Only issue we had was the parking. Though it was on the property I don't understand why we had to pay as it is not a resort.

Room was dirty and had hair all over. Sink was clogged. Parking was the worse. It was hard to find and limited space. My car was moved all the way to the end so the staff had to move all the cars to get my car out. That was about 15-20 min. Was waiting to check out and none of the staff greeted me to help me check out. Mind you, there were no guest waiting to be helped. Waited about 5 min until I said something. Too many homeless around the property.

There was an extremely loud machine grinding mouning sound that shook the room all night. The front desk didn't and told us they couldn't do anything about it. And the room was dirty. I don't think they ever cleaned under the bed

The staff at the Pickwick at so friendly and accommodating. The building itself is older, so it’s not a modern hotel but the room itself was nice and the bathroom was updated. The hallways could use a little love, but overall it’s a comfortable stay. It is downtown and conveniently located to many different things like restaurants and shopping.

The bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way we had to slam it shut or it would pop open after being shut. Also the lobby was so hot, my party was trying to hang out down there one night since the rooms are so small and we all had sweat dripping down our faces. It was too uncomfortable and our night ended early because it was miserable to try to hang out down there.
