Tropic Like It`s Hot Family Adventure with Large Pool in Rio Grande

Tropic Like It's Hot sits on the outskirts of El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico. Make lifelong memories at this unique and family-friendly vacation home. Fun for all ages! Centrally located, you'll be just 15 min from the beautiful beaches of Luquillo & championship-level golf courses. The amazing waterfalls of El Yunque & the Carabali Rainforest Adventure Park (ziplines/ATV/horseback riding) are also only 15 min away. 25 min to SJU airport, 45 min to the Ceiba Ferry, 40 min to Old San Juan.

Close to El Yunque Rainforest, renowned golf courses, and the beautiful beaches of Luquillo, Tropic Like It's Hot private home sleeps 12. With a fun game room, large family/dining room, fully stocked kitchen, private swimming pool & more, it's the perfect place for families and large groups to enjoy and relax.

Ping pong, dominoes, board games, wall games, & more will keep everyone entertained in the game room. The large sectional couch in the adjacent family room is a great place to relax and watch TV. The dining room seats 12 comfortably, and the a/c units in the living areas are an added bonus.

The full-size kitchen is completely stocked. Brand new appliances, dinnerware, and all kinds of utensils and gadgets will come in handy. We even have an Instapot and air fryer/microwave!  Spices, cooking spray, soaps, paper towels, and more are all provided. We also have creamer, sugar, and some coffee to start your trip off right.

The upper level balcony wraps around 3 sides of the house. Enjoy the beautiful views and jungle breezes from one of several hammocks. The large, private backyard has something for everyone: a swimming pool with a basketball hoop, putting green, badminton/volleyball, glow in the dark tetherball, lounge chairs, outdoor dining, plus a gazebo with propane grill and fireplace. Truly a private oasis.

There are 2 King beds and 4 Queen beds total. NO bunkbeds, so everyone has a comfortable place to sleep. (Pack n play baby crib also provided.) 4 bedrooms (1 on the main floor, 3 upstairs) offer plenty of space to spread out. Each bedroom has an a/c unit and ceiling fan, light/sound blocking curtains, pillow top mattress with memory foam topper, pillow and mattress protectors, plenty of extra pillows and blankets, a chair or bench to sit on, mosquito trap, and extra places to plug in chargers. We have truly thought of everything.

3 full bathrooms—with HOT water—come equipped with plenty of towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, hair dryers, and even microfiber makeup remover towels. The 2 main floor bathrooms have spa shower systems and the upstairs bathroom has a full size bathtub/shower. A non-slip mat and shower seat are available.

The laundry room has a brand new, full size washer & dryer and is stocked with liquid detergent, Tide pods, fabric softener, dryer sheets, & dryer balls. A full size ironing board, iron, and garment steamer are also available.

The large closet in the laundry room is stocked with beach gear, yard/pool equipment, and more. We have 12 beach chairs, pool and beach towels, a hard-sided cooler with wheels, a soft-sided cooler backpack, an insulated tote bag, boogie boards, a beach umbrella, beach canopy, beach blanket, sand toys, smashball, & more. You'll also find a badminton/volleyball net, golf balls and putters, balls/ball pump, pool floats, etc.

There is a dedicated workspace near the main living area. A comfortable chair and small desk sit just off the dining room. We have high speed Wi-Fi, with a whole-home mesh system.

The carport provides covered parking for up to 4 vehicles. The lockbox is conveniently located by the door under the carport. Each exterior door uses the same key. There are 4 exterior doors on the main floor and 2 upstairs—one sliding door and one at the end of the hallway, both leading to the balcony. All windows are equipped with screens, which is a must in the jungle!

Everything you need and more!

The house was absolutely perfect for a group of 12 ladies! The house has plenty of room and everything you could possibly need! We basically just had to bring toothbrushes!! They provide ear plugs and you will need them for the many local roosters! The pool was stunning, so much room for everyone and everything in the kitchen was labeled so you knew where to find it and put away. Everything was absolutely perfect and for 12 women to all agree and have zero complaints they NAILED it with this home. Great location too!

Vacation with extended family to Puerto Rico

This property was just right for our group of 9, including kids ages 11-17 and my 81 y/o mother. The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. The wall mounted AC units in every bedroom, family room, and game room were very effective. Bathrooms were just enough for 9, might not be enough for more. There was ample common space. The kitchen was very well equipped, the best equipped of any vacation rental I’ve ever stayed in. All the appliances, including dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer, worked well. We also used the grill. The kids had fun in the pool and in the game room. Downsides were low water pressure in the showers and tricky to figure how to get hot water in a couple of them. There is a small ceiling leak in an upstairs bedroom. The neighborhood may be safe, but we did not feel comfortable letting the kids outside of the fenced property. My husband and I went for a walk one evening but I was a little worried about encountering loose dogs. There were loose dogs at the entrance to the neighborhood that sort of ran at our vehicles. There is a fair amount of trash laying around, especially right outside the property where the trash cans are located but also in other places in the neighborhood, but not on the property itself. We heard the resident across the street yell expletives at his dogs on a couple nights. Immediately next door to the property is a camper trailer apparently used as a residence. There was nothing disruptive about it, just odd and unattractive.

Lovely Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Tropic Like It’s Hot. The owners have thought of everything—games, beach chairs, a cooler for day trips, sunscreen, and insect repellant were all very nice to have on hand without having to bring our own or buy it. The home was spacious and perfect for our group of 7. The kitchen was well appointed and while we didn’t really cook much, it was nice to have the amenities for the meals we did have there. We did have some trouble with the gate during our stay. One side never opened with the remote and maintenance wasn’t able to get it fixed before we left as it rained a couple of days (and it needed to be dry for it to work), but we were able to get in and out of the carport fine, just needed to be extra careful backing out. The property is in a neighborhood and not a tourist area, which we preferred. It was very safe and people were friendly. The neighborhood is basically adjacent to the rainforest and we loved that. I know some other reviews complained about the rooster noises, but we loved it! There were ducks, chickens, frogs, cats, dogs, and even a trio of cows walked down the road next to the property one night! We could never figure out how to consistently get warm showers. We looked for instructions but were unable to find them. Maria was very responsive to questions and we appreciated the notes and QR codes around the house with local info. Also appreciated not having a huge checkout “to do” list! Great trip!

Stay dates were December 11-18lost electricity one day for a couple of hours; minor issue with opening and closing gate. House was big enough for all of us. It was close to the airport and stores. We enjoyed the stay.

Just perfect

This home has everything you need and want. It has plenty of room for two families, 7 people in total. We felt safe. The pool was amazing! There’s plenty of games to play on rainy days for entertainment. Fyi, there are chickens and roosters running around crowing at all times but really didn’t bother us. Overall, A+++

Great place for larger families!

We had 12 people in total, ages 6-70. Clean, modern property. We gave the large built-in pool lots of use! And there was plenty of pool and beach equipment to borrow. We grew up near farms so the roosters, ducks and dogs weren't really a problem though I could see where a city resident wouldn't be very happy with the nightly crowing. Overall, all 12 of us were very happy with the house!

This house is set up great. Several bedrooms; air conditioning in each room and two in the living airs made for great sleeping and staying cool during the day. All the amenities were a big plus; from chairs, coolers, towels, blankets, etc.

Todo súper!! We loved our stay.

We had an incredible stay here and my family all enjoyed it, we’re comfortable, and we had fun in the sun swimming and looking up at the stars at night. The only trouble we had was with Uber pick ups and drop off, the address is difficult to find. I would highly recommend this house and host!

Nice Property in Puerto Rico

Lovely home with beautiful pool, everything you need is there! Also included are pool toys and beach chairs. The beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of room to spread out. Close to the beach and only a short drive from the airport. There were 7 people in our group, and everyone agreed this place an A+. Enjoy!

Amazing

My husband and I took our 6 kids (ages 9-13) and my parents on vacation. This home couldn’t have been more perfect! The bedrooms were large and spacious as was the rest of the house. We absolutely loved the wrap around balcony! All the cabinets, drawers, and light switches were all labeled which was extremely helpful. The kids loved the pool and all the games. We felt extremely safe. They provide earplug to block out jungle noises but the sounds at night were so peaceful. We were so happy with our choice to rent this home for a week!

Family Vacation 2023

Best vacation ever! The house was more than what we expected. My family enjoyed the pool every day after exploring the island. Nearby beaches and restaurants were a big plus. I recommend this home while traveling to Puerto Rico. You won't regret it.

The PERFECT House with Everything you Need

First off, how cute is the outside? Such a fun, happy, island color! There is a huge pool (perfect temperature) with a waterfall, surrounded by a very spacious backyard and beautiful palm trees. There are lounge chairs and a table withumbrella, a putting green, too! The bedrooms have literally everything you need, with amazing mattresses and high quality bedding and blankets! Not to mention the cutest decor and colors! And ear plugs to block out jungle sounds at night. The house has so much space, with a game room, 2 dining tables and a huge plush (comfortable) couch. When are rental couches ever comfortable?! Well they are at this one! There is even a dedicated office space. The kitchen is equipped (and LABELED) with everything you’d have at home, and more, including an instant pot and air fryer. Oh and ziplock bags and Tupperware. All the furniture is such good quality. There are little touches everywhere, like in each room there are plugs/USB ports that are easy to reach, throws, laundry baskets, side lamp, mosquito fan and the decor is seriously the most adorable ever! There are boogie boards and beach towels and chairs, an a umbrella, a cooler that we took in the car every day filled with our cold drinks (this SAVED us, bc it’s so hot here and we were always thirsty). There was an AC unit in every room and it cooled the house down so quickly. The lights had fans that were super powerful and made it so pleasant to be inside. THEY THOUGHT OF EVERYTHING! Worth every penny.

Had a really nice stay here. Everything you need is here except your food and drinks. These owners really make it easy to get you on your way to vacationing and not having to go around shopping for all the necessary things to cook and clean and relax with. amazing family getaway

Probably our best vacation rental experience! The house has anything you could need fully stocked (extra toiletries, pool floats, beach chairs, blankets, towels, etc.). When we were not out exploring, we were enjoying in the home (pool, game room, etc). The beds are extremely comfortable, ACs work great, kitchen is fully stocked! The location is also excellent; close to the rainforest, beaches, and great restaurants. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting!

They have it all sit back and relax

The home was absolutely beautiful. Very spacious and clean. Loved that there were labels all over so you knew exactly where everything was located. They have thoroughly thought out every space of the home. Communication was a breeze. Bedrooms are spacious beds were very comfortable. Plenty of beach chairs, towels toys, coolers, umbrella. Kitchen is fully equipped . I could go on an on. We had a wonderful time.

Beautiful and clean vacation home

Tropic Like It’s Hot is the perfect home away from home! They have thought of everything, including all the beach equipment you could ever need, a well stocked kitchen, and clean and comfortable furnishings throughout the entire house. The pool was a wonderful place to relax after exploring all the beautiful sites in Puerto Rico. This was such a fun place to stay for our group of adults and teenagers and we will definitely be back. The owner was so easy to work with and made sure we had every little thing we needed. We can’t wait to visit again. Don’t miss out on this place!

Great Memories!

Awesome beautiful house! Well decorated and cozy! Extremely organized and fully fully furnished from plates and cups to zip lock bags and laundry detergent! Property manager is very easy to get ahold of and very professional! Loved it over all and will definitely be back and highly recommend! It’s pretty much dead center of everything you can do!! Thank you!!!!
