The problems started before arriving. The hotel asks you to contact them 48 hrs before to give an arrival time as there is no front desk, but the telephone numbers don't work. I emailed the address from the hotel's website several times from 2 weeks before with no answer. I contacted Expedia and got a cell number - which was never answered - and asked them to give my arrival time. The hotel emailed me (from the same address that I had emailed...) asking for my arrival time and I sent this asking for confirmation, which was not sent. So, I arrived in San Pedro with no certainty as to whether someone would be there or not.
On arriving, I was escorted to the front podium to pay (not even a glass of water after a long trip!). I was charged an extra 3% for credit card, which was not stated in the booking, and at a very low conversion rate - meaning that the price on the booking was about ten dollars per night lower than what I was charged.
The room is basic: there is a bed, small desk and chair, two small bedside tables, and wardrobe. No TV, air conditioning, kettle, fridge etc. The breakfast is also basic without fresh juice or fruit. But the room was clean.
The hotel is very expensive for what it is, and it is 10 mins out of town, but prices are high in San Pedro. Based on my experience, I would never use it again.
