I've stayed at the Lemon Tree several times. It has been consistently nice - clean, quiet, lovely foliage-filled views from the balcony. The heating is easy to adjust. I will happily stay there again.

The Lemon Tree was good for our one night in Santa Barbara: clean, friendly front desk staff, well-located for where we wanted to go. Breakfast was somewhat limited (to high end options, which our waiter got confused) and not available until 8 AM.

I found bed bugs in my bed! I was forced to leave the hotel at 4:00am to go sleep in my car. Despite the desk clerk's promise of a full refund, I did not receive a dime. After writing an honest review, the hotel offered to refund my stay if and only if I took down the review. I refused. Worst hotel experience I've had in many years.

Staff is helpful, property is clean and has lovely external seating areas and pool. Restaurant has good food. We have stayed here several times and have found it to be pleasant. This last stay we were in a double queen room (#128) and the TV remote had dead batteries, the tub was extremely slick with the grip strips not really effective. Both of these issues should be fixed. Otherwise all was good.

Lemon Tree has gone downhill. Dire need of renovation. Staff at reception have no Interest and no customer service skills. Poor amenities ( no condiments on coffee/ tea tray, water temperature for shower never got hot. ) Food was left in refrigerator's freezer from, apparently, previous guests. Will no longer stay at this hotel.

I enjoyed the hospitality and the convenience of the property. My room was clean and the hotel restaurant was also very good. Also, the proximity of the hotel to downtown Santa Barbara was a huge plus for me.
