Spotless! Classic old school beach town vibe!
This bungalow in the heart of Grayton was perfect for walking to the beach and restaurants. The home was absolutely spotless and the old world southern beach town charm was perfect for a relaxing weekend. I took several pics to use when we build our retirement house. We had a minor issue that was addressed asap. Great host who responded quickly. We will definitely stay here again!!

Over all excellent location, and space was great. Owner showed up at 10, and surprised we weren’t gone when check out is at 11, and seemed annoyed we hadn’t left yet. We had previously communicated we would be leaving at 11am.

We Enjoyed Our Stay
It's great having the extras of bikes and other beach items in the garage. My wife noticed a mildew smell in parts of the house, mostly near the main bath and bedroom. It is a cozy place and about a 10 minute to the beach (we went past Red Bar to the boardwalk, which seemed to be the easiest). We would stay there again.

Convenient location
Walking distance to beach and shops which was wonderful since parking is a challenge in Grayton. Communication was extremely prompt. Would stay here again! Note - it’s on the busy road into/out of town so traffic is frequent. Bring earbuds or noisemaker to drown it out if a light sleeper.

Great location in Grayton
The location of the property at Grayton beach was great. Easy to walk to the restaurants and the beach. Property had beach chairs and a wagon which made the short walk even easier. Outdoor space at property is nice and feels private even on the Main Street. The bedrooms and bathrooms are small and one of our teenage boys opted to take the pullout couch instead of sharing the room. The breakfast room is light and our favorite place to be in the house. Easy communication with Richard throughout our stay

Decent spot but wouldn't stay again
We liked the spot. The home is a cute little Bungalo. It is decorated well and they provide the necessities to make it feel more like home. That said, it could be better managed. Our issues: 1. No internet - the router was completely fried and there was no attempt to replace it before out time was out. 2. Significant mold growth in and around the A/C registers. This is something that i didn't make a big deal about because i couldn't change it, but it was bad. There were green and black blooms all over the ceilings around the A/C registers, especially in the bedroom. 3. The driveway was blocked by a debris pile from some apparent work going on. The deck was all cleared of furniture, etc. Again, i didn't make a big deal about it but for the cost of the rental it should have been addressed prior to us showing up.

First of all the location in Grayton Beach was great. Close enough to walk to the beach and restaurants. Owner and property manager were friendly , quick to respond to issues and even went out of their way to mail me my pillow that I forgot. The house was really cute, nice decor and wonderful amenities like full kitchen, washer/dryer and even all the beach equipment available. If I am being perfectly honest the only thing that would keep me from staying here again was exactly what a few other reviewers already pointed out. I had assumed that the owner would have addressed these issues but unfortunately we found the same thing. Mainly that the cleanliness was less than perfect. The house could really use a good deep clean. There was pretty much dust in every corner & tops of the baseboards and base of toilets. Living room furniture is well worn and a few stains. And while the keyless entry is very convenient, it felt a little unsettling not having an extra deadbolt on the door at night. Not that we were scared in Grayton but it’s just something that helps us sleep at night. The property manager said that they were planning an update in August. If those issues were addressed we would love to stay here again in the future.

Highly recommend
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would definitely stay there again! We had a few hiccups with the description not including sharing a washer dryer with the carriage house. But felt like this was handled well. The location is absolutely perfect. We were able to walk everywhere. Such a cute house!

Great Stay
Really loved the area. Even though some of the nearby towns can get a bit crowded it was never crowded here. And with multiple restaurants within walking distance you really didn't have to go that far for everything you needed. The property was really nice. We especially appreciated all the beach equipment that they made available which made our beach visits much better.

This was a perfect spot in Grayton Beach. The house was so cute and full of everything one would need on a beach vacation. The owner was great at communicating. It was very clean with all essentials. I did not have to buy spices, toilet paper, or paper towels which was nice. The gargae had tons of beach stuff and bicycles for both houses. It was great!

Really enjoyed this cute place... and the location was terrific. Don't understand people's complaints about "dated" decor, but I guess you can't please everyone. Everything was clean, in good working order, and the owners/mgmt were terrific. Would definitely visit again!

A little bit would go a very long way.
This is a charming house, albeit it quite dark inside, and it enjoys a very good location in Old Grayton. The house and its furnishings are old, the decor and fabrics very dark. This home needs some TLC, however. The kitchen cabinets were not clean on top (sticky and stained). There is not even a matched set of dishes in the house other than tacky Melamine dishes that the owner requests be hand-washed (???). The Keurig coffee maker stopped working on day two. And there are Post-it notes in every room, telling the guests what to do or not do, some of them rather ridiculous. You have to do better than this with a rental property, especially at the prices in Grayton Beach. I had a large home there for ten years and could never have got away with this. I would say: (1) Dispense with the Post-it notes and either take the item out or make sure it works properly. Don't advertise a fireplace and then tell people they cannot use it, for example.; (2) Clean the cabinets well (especially now during COVID concerns) and clean the extraneous junk out of cabinets and drawers; and (3) Spend $30 at a mail order like Crate & Barrel or even a thrift stop, and get a matched set of dishes so that people can have a proper sit-down dinner or entertain a small group. Yes, things sometimes get broken. But that doesn't mean that you neglect providing the basics. You keep a backup set or accept that you will replace some things through attrition. It's part of having a vacation rental property. People have expectations of properties at this price point. You cannot just say, "Oh, well...it's the beach." I book through VRBO all the time and have never had an experience that was even close to this. I would never book or recommend this property to anyone again. And I had admired this house for years before I finally booked a stay there.
