Disappointments at Villa Roca Nova
8 of us stayed at the Villa Roca Nova 28 May to 4 June 2023.
As advertised the villa is perfectly situated in the resort of Cala D'Or for beaches and shops - just 10 minutes walk to either.
However:
1. The literature is misleading in that two of the bedrooms are separated from the main villa by individual entrances. This proved inconvenient as only one of each key was provided and that was rightly held by those staying in that part of the building who needed to lock the door at night for the safety of their children. Those in the separated bedrooms were therefore locked out of the kitchen and lounge.
2. The floors were grubby (even after being cleaned) and mould in a shower room could be rubbed off with your finger.
3. The kitchen lacked cutlery and sufficient crockery for 8 occupants. Fridge had clearly been turned on just before our arrival and didn't get to proper operating temperature until Day 4 of our stay. On Day 3 we found a large cockroach in the kitchen which was on the work surface. The Toaster didn't work from Day 1 and the cleaners arranged a replacement on Day 5 of our stay. The bedroom linen and towels were grey, rather than white, and the towels in particular, were very worn and of poor quality.
4. The mattresses on the beds were hard and uncomfortable with one member of the party suffering very badly with the result he slept one night on the couch.
5.The smoke alarm in the balcony bedroom was missing and found in drawer with dead battery.
