Many say, when it comes to houses, that location is everything. And this house definitely meets that. The Longview House is a lovely, superbly comfortable home to swoon over and stay in.
Situated on Lighthouse Drive, adjacent to both the historic district and the Partition Street hub, with multiple dining and shopping options, as well as a 10-minute walk to the historic Saugerties Lighthouse, this home has everything needed for a comfortable stay in Saugerties.
The main level entry puts you into an expansive open plan dining, living, kitchen, and recreational space. Aside from sleeping, it’s hard to think of an activity that couldn’t happen here.
A full gourmet kitchen with island is positioned to allow the chef to interact with everyone in the adjacent spaces; whether that’s someone reading in the cozy living room, eating in the large dining area, or enjoying the fun space of the billiards / hangout room, with darts, games and record player.
This main level also has a full bathroom with a tub / shower combo and two bedrooms towards the back on the rear garden side. The first bedroom has a queen size bed, and across the hall, a large second bedroom has four twin beds, configured as a bunk bed and two separate twins.
Upstairs, a loft sitting area with desk is the perfect space for a quiet moment of reading or catching up on some work. On this upper level is the principal bedroom, which has a king size bed, and plenty of room for a crib. This bedroom also has a convenient en-suite bathroom with shower.
Glimpse the Hudson River from this floor, or, looking out to the front of the house, watch boats go by on Esopus Creek.
Outside, relax on the front deck which has water views from across the large lawn. On the rear deck are lounger chair and a dining table with BBQ for outdoor eating and entertaining.
The back garden also has a basketball hoop and childrens play-set, giving little ones a safe place to play.
Whether you are in Saugerties to explore the town and nearby Woodstock, to attend HITS-on-the Hudson, to enjoy the many cultural institutions or just to hang with friends and relax, this house provides the perfect base.

Cancellation and Insurance: We encourage all our guests to purchase travel insurance, whether through the OTA when offered at the time of booking, or through a third party. We cannot make any exceptions to our cancellation policy.
Utility Outages: As Upstate New York can see its’ fair share of inclement weather and is primarily a tree rich area with overhead power lines, please know we do not assume responsibility for utility outages during your stay. If electric, water or Wi-Fi service is impacted, we do not refund. Of course, if an outage were to persist for longer than 8 hours we would allow a cancellation without penalty.
Weather: During the winter months, there may be ice, snow, and hazardous conditions. We recommend driving a vehicle with AWD or 4WD. Please ask about the plowing schedule for the house. Most driveways are plowed at or before 3” of accumulation.
Animals and Pests: The house is in a rural environment and surrounded by countryside, farms and wildlife. Although it’s wonderful to observe the eagles, deer, bears, and adorable chipmunks, it can also mean you will hear coyotes and foxes at night, and encounter the less cute mice, flies, snakes, ants, bees and ticks. There is very little to be done about it, but by keeping doors closed or screened and food in its appropriate storage, unwelcome guests will stay outside where they belong. All our properties benefit from scheduled pest control, but we are in a natural environment and we can not fortify the houses completely.
Cleaning Guarantee: We are very proud of our housekeeping team who go above and beyond. Because of their hard work and high professional standards, we are able to guarantee our cleaning to our guests. We take time stamped video and photos of the cleaned property and do not refund for any small issues found during a stay. Instead, should a guest feel that something is amiss or needs additional attention, we will gladly have a housekeeper attend the home to take care of it within 12 hours of an issue being reported.
Rental Agreement: Please know that we require all guests to sign a rental lease agreement.
This house has two levels and may not be suitable for guests who don’t wish to use stairs. However, it does have ground/ main level bedrooms and bathrooms.
This home may have weekly lawn and trash services as well as monthly pest control service. Service providers may access the exterior front yard and back yard.
Early check-in: When available, we love to allow our guests an early check-in to get your vacation started asap! Unfortunately, during peak times, this isn’t always possible. But please ask, we will always try.
