Vuonna 2015 rakennetun “Herrukot” loma-asunnomme on upealla syrjäisellä paikalla aivan järven rannalla. Kesästä 2018 lähtien on ollut käytettävissä vielä kaksi loma-asuntoa lomallesi avoimessa maaseudulla. Käy myös "Herrulæk-joen lomamökissä", kiinteistön numero 2751103.
Herrukotissa on kaksi erillistä makuuhuonetta, joissa molemmissa on kaksi erittäin mukavaa 90 × 200 cm-vuodetta, kylpyhuone suihkulla, lattialämmitys koko talossa, olohuone-ruokasali, jossa vuodesohva kahdelle ja täysin varustettu keittiö sis. Astianpesukone, keraaminen liesi (4 levyä) ja uuni tarjoavat perustan rentouttavalle lomalle 66 m2. WiFi on saatavilla ilmaiseksi, liinavaatteet, pyyhkeet ja teenpyyhkeet ovat myös saatavilla. Kakun kuorrutus on 60m2: n puinen terassi, jolla on oma hotpot ja upeat näkymät järvelle, vuorille ja Heklan tulivuorelle.

Talo on erittäin eristetty ja ihanteellisen sijainnin ansiosta eteläisellä Islannissa myös oleskelu talvella on erittäin tarkoituksenmukaista, reittivalot ovat erityinen kokemus syrjäisen sijainnin takia, koska alueella ei ole valoja muihin alueen taloihin.

Se on vain noin 400 sataa metriä maalaistaloamme, olet tervetullut ajamaan ulos tilallamme. Autamme sinua kaikissa lomaasi koskevissa kysymyksissä ja vinkkejä lomien suunnitteluun!

Absolut wintertauglich!
Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt total genossen. Lage des Hauses ist wunderschön. Einsam und gleichsam sehr gut erreichbar. Im Winter sind dazu Reifen mit Spikes zu empfehlen. Der Wohn/Ess/Küchenbereich ist für 4 Personen großzügig für isländische Verhältnisse. Zimmer sind Der Hot Pot auf der Terrasse ist das Highlight.

Best stay we’ve have in Iceland
This was our third time visiting the island and we could not have had a better stay. The house was exactly what we were looking for, and the hosts were fantastic. The communication was excellent and they were kind enough to message us on an amazing display of the northern lights to make sure we didn’t miss it. I cannot wait to make sure my friends book this location on their trips and we will definitely be back!

From booking, Renate was very responsive and helpful even flexible with our check-in/out times. The house was a perfect getaway and a great location between Reykjavik and Vik. Remote Stay Outside of Selfoss
Lovely remote location on the side of a lake on an Icelandic horse farm. Property was immaculate and allowed for a very cozy stay during a snowstorm/road closure. Cabin was amazingly sturdy during 60mph winds. Hot tub was great despite the brutal wind and snow. Trees provided a great wind break. Thankfully bought groceries at Knonan in Selfoss before we arrived (and some wine/beer at the duty free on our arrival at KEF). Although remote, we had great connectivity to deal with a crisis at home. Host communicated with us on Christmas morning to warn us about the road conditions. We also saw the host on Boxing Day, and she was very welcoming. Cabin is about 20 minutes from Selfoss "city center" and a 30-minute trip to Midgard Adventure (further east on the Ring Road) in Hvolsvöllur, where we took an amazing all-day tour after we checked out of this property. Overall, a great stay for our family of 5. No Northern Lights this time, but if back in Iceland, we would stay here again.

Beautiful cabin on the lake
Location - we loved being so close to the horse farm. Renate was very kind and welcoming and gave us a tour of the farm. We will be sure to return in the summer to go for a ride as well. The location was also great for the golden circle and the secret lagoon.Cabin - it was very well insulated and cozy, even in December. Everything was very well constructed (doors, windows, latches) and we had everything that we needed for delicious dinners in (we bought groceries from Bonus and Kronan). The beds were comfortable too. Hot pot - this was amazing! It was hot and very cozy. We enjoyed ending our days in the hot pot every night of our stay. Most nights were cloudy but one night, it was clear and we had a great view of the big dipper :)Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

Central, yet somehow isolated
Our group of four really appreciated our stay at this property. It was just over an hour out of Reykjavik, and gave us a convenient place to head toward the south coast one day and the Golden Circle the next. The views were stunning, the house was well appointed, and the floor heating was remarkably efficient. There were a couple of nitpicks, although they did not really impact our stay. While we did see a snow covered mountain from the deck, did we really see a glacier? The bedrooms are small, and the windows caused us a bit of grief. We also had to go to the end of the driveway for a northern view the one early morning we could see a bit of the Northern Lights, since trees block the northerly view from the house, but again, these are small issues. I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at this property if the location fits with your Iceland touring plans. Just keep going past the horse farm when you first arrive; the owners live there, but the house is further along the road. They were nice about it when Google Maps had me turn there; we probably weren’t the first to do so.

Just “wow!”
Choose this place for a great view over a lovely lake, a large deck with a spacious hot tub feed by natural hot water, very clean and thoughtfully built and supplied house, quiet surroundings and the best horse riding experience around! We LOVED our stay here. Renata and her family are so friendly.

Wir waren mit der Familie da und es war wunderbar. Verschiedene Ausflugsziele des Golden Circle sind innerhalb einer Stunde zu erreichen. Das Reiten auf dem Hof war win tolles Erlebnis. Wir hatten eine wundrrvolle Woche in Renates Häuschen. Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet und war sehr sauber. Renate ist eine sehr nette Vermieterin und hat uns bei Fragen geholfen. Das Beste ist allerdings die Lage des Häuschens, so eine perfekte schöne Alleinlage mit einem fantastischen Blick und dann noch ein toller Hot pot besser geht es nicht!! Ich kann es nur empfehlen!!

Amazing Time
The Lake House was beautiful and clean. It was a great spot to start all our adventures traversing the South side of Iceland. We arrived later in the day and had a bit of an embarrassing mix-up with our directions. However, Renate was very nice about us driving into the horse training area, sorry again for that. She was also very responsive to all our needs and our stay was just wonderful. We did not see the Northern Lights, but that may just mean we have to go back. Next time during a month when they are more prevalent. Thank you for everything Renate, you were a great host!

Great Location - super relaxing - everything you need
Stayed here with two kids and two adults - fantastic location, very peaceful and quiet. Located about 5 km off of the main highway 1, it was a great central place to take in some of the Golden Circle sights and also going down to Vik and the Black Sand Beach. Rejkavik was also within reach if we desired, but we had a separate stay in Rejkavik. Would definitely stay here again.

Southern Iceland gem
We deeply enjoyed our time at this fabulous and unique property. Visiting in March, we caught the northern lights 3 out of 6 nights. The location is secluded and serene; you basically have a private lake. The extremely large windows in the living and dining areas really draw you into the landscape, simply fantastic! The proximity to natural attractions and Selfoss for food/dining/shops was very good, with the house as our base of operations for a 1 week trip. We greatly enjoyed the hot tub and found the entire premises very spiffy and well maintained. The owners were very warm and accessible, checking that we settled in and had everything we needed. The internet was 100% reliable and worked well to satisfy all needs for a device-heavy family of 4. Amazing clear night views of more stars than you’ve probably ever seen. Brush up on your photography. You’ll experience absolute silence, except for the whispering wind. The perfect place to unwind and immerse yourself in Iceland.

Cozy, clean, and peaceful ! Loved it !
This rental was a wonderful place to stay with her family and two kids it had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, nice bed linens and towels. The heating system was superb, and lots of opportunities to open the windows and French doors to letting some fresh air. The view of the frozen lake was spectacular. Lovely to hear the wind wrestling through the trees at night, and total tranquility.
