This place was the perfect little stay for my first trip to South Korea. It was close to everything you can think of in Myeong-dong. Everything was in walking distance, it made my trip so easy to navigate. I felt vey safe in the area. The owner was super nice and informative. I would absolutely stay here again.

Nice quiet friendly well run hostel, the owner was friendly and very helpful, plus spoke English well. The only bad thing was excessively loud A/C unit in my room.

Amazing place, nice owners, very accommodating. He also called me a cab on my last day and made sure it got me to the right terminal. Would definitely stay again!

Comfortable, clean and modern in good location

Great for myeongdong, but in quiet location. Walk is fine, yes up a hill but no bother. Very modern, clean and good facilities. Metro access easy. Not for party animals. All private rooms so not very sociable. Breakfast is just toast and juice. Staff friendly, but rarely around. Single washng machine rarely available. WiFi very good. Walls a bit thin for noise, but normal really.

The owner of the building was so friendly and the location was perfect, close to the subway and a great view of namsan tower. The owners wife was extremely helpful when we needed a taxi. She tried several different companies until she found one for us. Would highly recommend this place. It is such a cute room if you want the whole korean experience.

I was very pleased with this rental. It was clean and the owner provided us with a laundry machine and breakfast every morning. Location is excellent too!

Nice little hilltop hostel

The room and facilities are clean, the bed is comfortable. The hostel provides simple toast and juice for breakfast. The only drawback is that it is located on a slope, but it is near Myeondong Station (2 minutes walk) and cable car station to Namsan Park Seoul Tower (5 minutes walk). The manager of the hostel is very friendly.

Good value and location

Great location. Tucked away in Myeongdong, it's in a quiet street but the main shopping street is just a 5 minute walk away. The cable car to reach Seoul Tower is also a 5 minute walk away, just going really uphill. Very close to Myeongdong Station, which made it easy to get to from Incheon airport via bus (also reachable via subway from Gimpo airport). The hotel is on a hill but it's not yet on the extreme end of the hill so carrying luggage is completely doable. Room itself was okay--it was rather small and very simple but we chose it more for the location and value. The bathroom is one where the shower head is attached to the sink so there's not a "real" shower and takes some getting used to. The free breakfast was self served bread, jam and butter, and orange juice. We bought our own breakfast at the many convenient stores nearby every morning instead. There is no fridge or kettle within the room, just a communal kitchen downstairs.

Cozy Stay in Myeongdong

This guest house was convenient and affordable. We appreciated the laundry facilities and the room was functional, though a bit small for two people with luggage. I would stay here again if I come back through Seoul. The only disappointment was the breakfast--it was just a loaf of white bread left on the kitchen counter.

Basic guesthouse

Nice clean room, loved having a private bathroom. Disappointed in the breakfast options - one morning a few of the eggs available for cooking were rotten so we gave up on those, the next morning there were no breakfast items left for us at all due to a large group getting there first and eating them all! Also wish there had been more security (front door is never locked and no locked luggage storage option on your last day). But great location!

Very cosy & clean!!

The owner of the guesthouse was very friendly & the checkin process was easy. It's about a 7-8 mins walk from Myeongdong station Exit 3 :) Nearby the station had several eateries too! Simple breakfast was provided which was very very much appreciated by my friends and I. However, if you have very large luggages, i wouldn't recommend to stay here because there's no elevator in the guesthouse.

Home in Seoul

Guest House the Hill is a highly recommended property. The owner, Kidae was very accommodating and helpful with all our needs during our first time in Seoul. The comfort and location is the best part of the stay. Walking distance from Myeongdong, a shopping haven and accessible to subway station. We will definitely be back again!

THIS GUEST HOUSE IS CLOSE TO THE TRAIN STATION, AND A BUSY SHOPPING AREA. KIDAE AND HIS EMPLOYER-JUNG WERE HELPFUL IN SUGGESTING PLACES TO VISIT, AND ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR QUESTIONS. WHEN I ENTERED THE PLACE, THE KITCHEN SINK WAS FULL OF DIRTY DISHES. WHEN ASKED, JUNG SAID THERE WAS A PARTY THE NIGHT BEFORE. SO I CHOSE TO BUY MY OWN MUG. THE CULTURAL PRACTICE OF REMOVING SHOES ON ENTERING A HOME, MADE THE SMALL ENTRANCE UNTIDY, AND NOT PLEASING TO LOOK AT, WITH THE SHOES ON THE STAIRS. THE PRACTICE OF USING SMALL BATH TOWELS, WAS SURPRISING. THEY DID PROVIDE US WITH AS MANY AS NEEDED. A BATHROOM OPENS UP INTO THE KITCHEN, AND MOST OFTEN THE DOOR IS OPENED AND THE TOILET SEAT OPENED. PLEASE TELL HIM TO MAKE A POINT OF KEEPING IT CLOSED. PUT A SIGN ON IT. OVERALL, IT WAS A PLEASANT STAY.
