***This is a mountain cabin. The drive up is narrow and winding, with some steep sections, but is all asphalt (was gravel until October 2023). Asphalt can be slippery in winter conditions or in heavy rain, which we cannot control. Four wheel drive is best at those times. We do provide ice melt in buckets by the driveway, if it is required.

Please note - Visible motion-activated recording cameras are located at the upper and lower doors, directed at the driveway. These are in place for security purposes along with allowing us to make sure cleaners and maintenance staff arrive when scheduled.

This is bear country. Please do not leave food outside, on the grill when finished or in your vehicle. Secure all garbage in the bear-proof container

We recommend travel insurance in the event you need to cancel your trip outside of our cancellation window.

Excellent stay
Mark and Susan house was a nice getaway, quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle. The accommodation was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Reasonable activities were within a reasonable drive. A nice hidden, casual place to relax and enjoy time with friends and family.

Awesome cabin
This cabin was beautiful. It’s a little tricky to get to up the mountain road, but once you get there you be pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the game room and spent a bucket list Thanksgiving on a mountain in a beautiful cabin. Only thing that would have been better if there was a bathroom on the bottom floor. Other than that, great property! Would definitely recommend.

I have never rented a cabin or condo so clean and spacious. The kitchen, dining, and den area is huge! Plenty of room for our family. It is evident that the cabin hosts spent so much time, money, and effort in making this the perfect cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mountain Retreat!

Mountain retreat
We stayed here with our adult children and their families. It was a great place for us all to get together. Spacious, clean and comfortable with a great view. Fully equipped and convenient kitchen for meal prep. Also a spectacular view. Private but close to all attractions. We had a wonderful visit and created great memories here.

Best Cabin in Pigeon Forge
I highly recommend this cabin for the view, the overall cabin itself and the amazing hosts. This cabin was *AMAZING* When we originally pulled off the road to head up the quick little drive into the mountains, we were skeptical. The original turnoff is a bit rough because of how steep the turn in. The driveway is fairly steep, so make sure you have a pretty good vehicle to get up the road, but once you're up there - the *BEST* cabin you can find. It's away from the city so that you can enjoy nature. Few neighbors and you're surrounded by woods with a scenic view of the valley. You can tell the owners have poured their heart and soul into the property and trying to upgrade it for renters. We'd made a point to drive past a few of the other cabins we'd looked at while out there and they're all stacked on top of one other, this however, is away from everyone. Absolutely loved it. Mark and Susan were also extremely attentive whenever we'd asked a few questions. They would also shoot us a courtesy message to let us know if trash was going to be collected, if something was happening, etc. so that we could plan around anything potentially happening around the cabin. They were, by and large, the best hosts we've ever been through and I cannot express my gratitude enough!!!! If we ever make it back that way for another trip they've found some life-long clients.

Family Fall Vacation
The cabin was perfect for a larger family. It was super clean and exactly as described. The driveway is now paved, so no gravel to fight uphill. That was a huge plus! View was very pretty and weather was gorgeous for our trip! It was the perfect weekend!

Family fun
This cabin and it’s location was breathtaking. Check in was simple and convenient. Cabin was very clean and family oriented. We got the see a momma bear and a cub 3 days out of our stay which thrilled the toddlers. Mark and his wife was very on top of everything which we appreciated more than they can imagine. We have been coming to Tennessee for the last 15 years and they was by far the best people to rent from. We will definitely be back we appreciate everything you done.

Beautiful cabin and views
The cabin was gorgeous! It is so well kept and clean. Plenty of room for the 10 of us. About 10-15 min from Pigeon Forge. We spent a lot of time out on the covered deck taking in the views, or having a campfire. The owners were amazing and communicated well. I would love to stay there again! It felt like a home away from home!

our much needed family reunion
My son and his family live in Taiwan. They have not been able to leave Taiwan for four very long years due to Covid. During this time my husband and father of three, grandfather of two, became seriously ill. After less than a year of the most painful loss of his health and dignity my husband succumbed to cancer. Our family members were unable to attend his death nor the memorial service. This trip was healing in countless ways for the rest of the family, as well as the missing pieces of our family. Our circle will always have a hole in it where Papa used to be, but we closed the gap with love, tears, and memories and we are once more an intact unit. Your beautiful property provided the perfect backdrop for our family's grief work and I am at peace. Thank you

This cabin is perfectly outfitted and in the perfect location! It’s close enough to restaurants and activities, but far enough away from the overly touristy areas. Great access to the Park and local spots in Wears Valley. Cabin is as described and in great condition, very clean, great layout, and no neighbors!

Our family had an amazing stay at this cabin! The home is very homelike. I was thankful for the play pen, toddler toys, baby gates for the stairs and highchair! It made vacation with a toddler much easier! Mark went above and beyond prior to our stay and throughout to make sure we were taken care of and didn't need anything! To get up the driveway you HAVE to have 4x4 or a front wheel drive vehicle! It is close enough to town so that your not driving forever, the cabin is literally at the top of the mountain so you are secluded and cant even see the closest cabin to the house! If your looking for a beautiful cabin or a quite peaceful vacation look no farther!

Wonderful Stay! Great Hosts
We stayed a week at Mark & Susan's beautiful home as part of a multi-generational vacation (ages 14-82). It was perfect for all ages. The hosts were in communication during our entire stay & addressed any of our concerns/questions. In addition they provided great recommendations for the area. The house is private with a fantastic view. We greatly enjoyed sitting on all the porches having some Ole' Smokey, hanging in the hot tub, gathering by the fire and having pool tournaments at night. The beds/mattresses were amazing too. I meant to get the brand before we left, but forgot- they were that good! The location was great- in Wears Valley. Having been to the area several times, it's my favorite area to stay and this house was perfect. As discolosed, the driveway getting up is very steep- but even with heavy rains, we were fine with a 4WD. If I ever came back to this area, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! Thanks for the memories and a great stay!

Great cabin for a quick getaway with friends.
It was exactly as described- very clean, plenty of room for the eight of us, and all the supplies and kitchen equipment we could’ve wanted. We loved the hot tub, fire pit and deck. The hosts were attentive and make sure we didn’t need anything. Wouldn’t change a thing- highly recommend!”

The hot water was not hot at all, I wouldn’t even consider Luke warm so everyone was complaining about this. Has to heat up water to bath the babies so they would even set in tub. Hot tub smelled bad and was way past the date to change water and filter, it was also across the driveway and not close to house. Most cabins I’ve rented are on deck or very close to house. Home was clean and one the bathrooms was off from kitchen in a mud room, which had no heat in it at all so everyone used the master room’s bathroom because they froze out there. Very small showers! NOT ENOUGH TOWELS washed towels while there. Other cabins I have rented had extra towels. Great location though. Beautiful cabin but would not come back to this cabin for my family again!

Mountain Retreat Getaway
We had an amazing 2 nights at the Mountain Retreat! The cabin is like no other and the owners have taken great care to ensure that you have everything you need! The cabin has a unique design with plenty of space for everyone as well as a super awesome gameroom for entertainment. Mark was especially great a communicating everything we would need to know before, during and after our stay. We were in the cabin during the recent Arctic Blast and stayed cozy, warm and comfortable throughout the storm. We did appreciate the advice of having a 4x4 vehicle for the driveway. Our rental suburban made it up the hill with no problems. This was our first visit to TN and we hope to return to the Mountain Retreat again someday!

Much Needed Vacation!
This cabin cabin has it all; views, privacy, and location! We had a great time at this cabin, as previous reviews have mentioned to get to the upper driveway 4x4 would be recommended. The lower driveway wasn’t a problem. The owner was extremely fast in replying to our messages. It’s in a great location and It’s only approximately 10 minutes from town! I would definitely stay here again!

Everything was clean & the cabin was very well stocked! Also loved that there were baby gates for the stairs & a high chair since we have 2 toddlers. Perfect cabin but definitely recommend 4WD to get there. We made it up ok without it though.
