The host was great communicating with me throughout the process. Our group plans a trip every summer and are reasonably familiar with the rental property process.
This property was pretty true to the photographs and description. The six of us adults had plenty of room. The location was close to all of the towns along the lake. There was a lot more traffic on this road than we expected, probably due to construction on the homes across the street and behind the house where exclusive homes are being built on the site of a former golf course. We made use of the grill and fire pit, which were nice additions. Each couple took turns preparing dinners. The kitchen could’ve been a bit more equipped; there were no pitchers, mixing bowls, working can opener, ice cube trays or serving dishes, but plenty of plates, bowls, flatware, glasses and coffee cups. I take responsibility for that, bc I should’ve asked the host about kitchen specifics beforehand. The house was clean, but could use a deeper clean in places like the kitchen windowsill (lots of gnats and mosquitoes appeared around the kitchen sink overnight, door and window jambs, around sink fixtures, patio doors and thorough vacuuming of carpeting.
Overall, this was a clean, comfortable property. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning was a plus, as we had some unseasonably hot days. The host provided firewood for the fire pit. The house could use some updating, but it was nostalgic, as a child of the 60s & 70s, looking at some of the older features of the house. It’s really cool that this house has been the the host’s family for several years. I know she must be very proud to own such a lovely place.
