Beautifully positioned in a grove of pine and aspen trees, this gorgeous home in Black Butte Ranch provides access to the community's amazing amenities, a private hot tub, and plentiful windows that let in the Central Oregon sunshine. Step inside to find a bright, spacious living area that's full of contemporary style, where you can have a seat on one of the plush couches, light a fire in the woodstove, and spend a cozy evening sharing stories with your guests. Use the gas grill to cook up a wonderful meal outside, watch as the kids run around the large grassy area, or retreat to the soothing hot tub and let the bubbling water ease away any lingering stress.

This air-conditioned home sits on half an acre of land near the quiet, southern end of Black Butte Ranch, a brief walk from the Glaze Meadow Recreation Center and its indoor and outdoor pools, outdoor hot tub, fitness facilities, tennis courts, sports and rental shop, and spa. Also within the ranch, you'll find a lake, golf courses, restaurants, shops, bike trails, and horseback riding (some activities will require a small fee). If you ever decide leave the ranch grounds, there are plenty of adventures in the area. Downtown Sisters is eight miles southeast, and Bend is 22 miles beyond, so you'll always be close to restaurants, breweries, shops, and entertainment. Come winter, Hoodoo Ski Area is 20 miles west, so you can easily head out there for a snowy, excitement-filled day of skiing, snowboarding, sledding, and snowball fights.

Things to Know
Firewood is provided.
There's a Tesla version 3 charging station for use in the garage.

Black Butte Stay 2023
We have stayed at the property numerous times. We love this place. We actually had to leave a few days early because of the smoky air from the fires. One suggestion: more paper products. We kept going through the toilet paper and paper towels.

Great property, location, and spacious
This is very close to Glaze Meadow, down a quiet/peaceful road, with a spacious living room/deck area that looks out onto trees (and deer). Two masters with awesome bathrooms was a nice feature! We had plenty of space for the family, meals, food prep, etc. We'd book this home again!

Great house; horrible service
Good news: Beautiful house in a great location! We could easily walk to Glaze Meadow Rec Center. Deck and outdoor eating area backed into open space, well stocked kitchen, lots of board games and books. Loved the house! Bad news: About 6 hours before check in, Vacasa (booked with Vrbo) called to tell us they didn’t have housekeepers so we could 1) clean the entire house ourselves (providing our own cleaning supplies), or 2) cancel the reservation. Since we were already on our way with three excited kids, we continued on. After multiple calls and long waits with Vacasa, they refunded our cleaning fee and offered to drop off clean linens and take out the trash. We were left to clean the kitchen, 3 baths, 4 bedrooms, living and dining areas. Note: In addition to cleaning supplies, you may want to pack your own toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels, laundry detergent — none was provided.

Really had an awesome long weekend- just went by too fast Our only findings were unexpected hairs in folded clean towels and lack of informational binder with emergency info or numbers for ranch amenities

Great house and great location
First time staying at Black Butte Ranch and we had a blast. There was a lot of snow while we were there which was fun for the kids. The house is really nice and is in a good location close to different activities like sledding, rec. center, etc. Given how cold it was and the amount of snow, it took a while to get the house warmed up, but the wood stove definitely helped with that. Luckily I brought a snow shovel as I had to dig out the hot tub, which was a lot of fun to use while it was snowing!

Some issues the first few days
House could have been cleaner. Found a used bar of soap in the shower. Under sink was worn and dirty. Property manager was hard to reach when we had problems. Voicemail was always full so had to call Vacasa. Had this attitude that we were stupid as couldn’t figure out how to use a few of the things like a very unusual shower head. Not clear about what was the dishwasher detergent or use of the key box. We were not pleased.

Fun fun!
clean home. Is smaller than appears in photos online. We were given exactly 3 dishwashing tablets and kitchen garbage bags for a 3 night stay with 8 people. Could have used a few more. We had a nice stay regardless.

Private, quiet house — great layout for two families
We absolutely loved staying here. The house has a very comfortable layout and is nicely appointed. It backs up to a lovely grove of birch trees and the big windows filled the space with light. Very quiet and private, including the hot tub area. We hope to return! Note: two of the bedrooms have queen/king beds, and the other two have bunk beds though the bottom bunk is a double bed in each of the rooms, which is a nice bonus.

Beautiful House - Great Location
Overall our visit was good - we love Black Butte. The new lodge pool is amazing. While the house is lovely, the kitchen could really use a good deep clean (cabinets washed, all cookware washed and organized and walls wiped). If we found the kitchen a little cleaner, this would be a five star visit. We did talk to the property manager about it and he was very responsive and kind.

Sister's Retreat Success
We stayed at this lovely home for our 12th annual Sister's Retreat and loved it. We usually go to the beach but this time we wanted to hit the mountains. We wanted a cabin feel, instead of new construction, and that's what we got. This home was warm, clean, and comfortable. The wood stove was very cozy and came with plenty of wood in the garage. The grove of Aspen trees in the back provided a beautiful view and privacy from other homes. The hot tub was the perfect temp and clean. The Ranch was full of walking/biking paths, a spa, horseback riding, and fabulous restaurant, all of which we used! The ranch access fee threw me off so expect to pay $8 per person per night, when checking in. We loved how it was remote, but still close to Sisters and even Bend. We had a great time! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Beautiful Home with One Drawback
This was a lovely, comfortable home. A cut above the usual Black Butte or Sunriver rental, which often resembles a 1980's dental office. This house was beautifully customized, quite clean and fairly well maintained. It had high ceilings, many windows, nice furnishings and best of all, a back deck abutting a beautiful meadow dotted with aspen and ponderosa pine. It seemed tucked away and private, and yet it was a just a short walk to a nice rec center and pool. There was one draw-back, which if you are aware of before renting shouldn't be a problem. The description of the house says that it has four bedrooms, and this is accurate up to a point. But future renters should know that TWO of the bedrooms are small, dark children's rooms with bunkbeds. That leaves only two bedrooms suitable for adults. We were a party of 3 couples and 2 children. We assumed that each couple would take a bedroom and the children would sleep in the room with bunkbeds. We did not know that one couple would have to make due with bunkbeds, and if we had known we wouldn't have booked the house, as nice as it is. We had to put the bunkbed mattresses on the floor together and there was scarcely enough space in that small room to do even this. Plus, the mattresses in the children's rooms were second-rate and very uncomfortable for adults. Everything in the children's "wing" from bedding, to bathroom, to mattresses was sort of tired and inferior to the rest of the house (which was, as I said, quite lovely and well-appointed). Odd. The home does not come with bikes and/or any other recreational equipment unlike many in Black Butte and Sunriver. But that wasn't much of a problem because of the nearby rec center and bike rental place therein ($25 dollars/day/per person). Nevertheless, we had a great time there and I do recommend this home (for parties of no more than four adults!). Also, try the Kokane Cafe in Camp Sherman for a wonderful, relaxing adult dinner on the banks of the Metolius.

The property's quality is misreprented in the description of it's listing.
I will try to be fair. Upstairs we found our bed to be comfortable. The bathroom had a nice shower as did one of the bathrooms down stairs. The third bathroom was outdated but suited our needs. The home has a nice layout for 2 families with kids. The problem with this home is that it is suffering from serious deferred maintenance. The first thing we encountered was that the sliding back doors to the deck did not work well. One of the sliding doors could barely be opened and the one we did use was very difficult for us to open especially for the children. The hot tub was clean and good size. The problem though is that the cover to the hot tub is so water logged and heavy that it was impossible for one person to close. It was difficult for 2 men to close. The deck was totally covered in debris and to top it off, the bbq was a mess and out of gas. We had to rearrange our dinners for the week for we had planned on using the bbq all week. We specifically rented a home with a bbq and that did not work out. Moving on, the kitchen is good size but a lot of the dishes have chips in them, and the utensils are old and subpar. Forget about finding a sharp knife. Bring your own. Other items that need to be addressed asap at this home include: The lights hanging across the living room are pulling away from the wall and ready to fall at any moment. These lights are halogen lights and get very hot. When they fall it is going to be an emergency! The handle on the sink in the upstairs bathroom came off when my wife turned the water on. The switch that runs the fan in the living room above the door was sparking when you touched it. Thought I was going to get electrocuted! I highly recommend that this house not be rented until these fixes are made. The list could go on, but I am done with this rental. We called the number and left a message (twice) provided to us by Vacasa Rentals, they didn't even call us back. I will think twice before I rent a house that is managed by them. This home has more potential, and this review is meant to be constructive. I do not recommend this home until more detail and care has been given to it.
